Great play by Infante. Maybe a game-saver.
Yeah, he gave up a run earlier in the game so that evened things out.Great play by Infante. Maybe a game-saver.
The only question mark was who would close, and valverde is pitching like an all star, no need to bring anyone up or make a tradeAssuming this team stays healthy, I don't think the Tigers make any trades this year.
No comment on that Eddie Murray 56 yd FG to make it 17-2?I just saw the two HRs that Miggy hit.![]()
I think they are still rolling around somewhere in El Paso.
In batting practice, he hit two balls over the arches and out of the stadium.I just saw the two HRs that Miggy hit.I think they are still rolling around somewhere in El Paso.
I would have gone with Richard Wagner's The Ride of the Valkyries.A snippet in this morning's Tribune: Fielder has used Mozart's Requiem as he walks to the plate. He picked this up after learning Torii Hunter listens to classical music to prepare for games. "Fielder says Hunter caught his eye in spring training because he 'was so seasoned and had so much energy early in the morning.' He told the 37-year-old he was going to watch him and copy everything he did so he also could have a long career." The Trib notes Fielder is under contract through age 37.
That's what we should expect, and they actually delivered!!!!Sweep! Twins at home and then to Houston this week, good chance to get nice and clear of .500.
Well he did double his hit production for the entire season today, so he does have that going for him.Thisjon_mx said:ETA: Santiago is a waste of a roster spot.

Sweet! I guess our "vacation" of the last several games is over. Time to play some grown-up baseball games again.Doctor Detroit said:Will be at the next two games. Tomorrow I am about 20 rows up from the Nats dugout and then Wednesday in the second row down the firstbase line about halfway between 1st and the foul pole. When I go to Nats games I normally wear something Nats and something Tigers, this time I will be wearing nothing Nats related. A split would be nice, Anibal/Zimm tomorrow and Fister/Haren Wednesday.
Considering their late collapse last year, they are paid up for they year. It's about time the white sox did something useful.
Shtick? Coming into the game Verlander was 2nd in ERA, 15th in WHIP, 9th in K's and had a 4/1 K/BB ratio.Use to be when verlander pitched it was an auto win for the tigers, not so this year, maybe all the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ has gone to his head
He's terrible now. Hate to break it to you, but it's over.Shtick? Gopher State had Brokeback Mountain jokes for fours years, almost every one of his posts involved something about camping or #### sex. I honestly think he should go back to that shtick, seems like it was more valuable to the group here. He's terrible now. Hate to break it to you, but it's over.Shtick? What does this have to do with Verlander being a replacement level pitcher since he got that fat contract? Just accept it and move on.Gopher State had Brokeback Mountain jokes for fours years, almost every one of his posts involved something about camping or #### sex. Correia >>>>>>>>> Verlander
Porcello pitched well today, he deserved better. Valverde is unable to hold runners and then proceeds to walk the leadoff hitter who is the best base stealer in baseball. He doesn't do that and they win, terrible. Hitters sucked today too, Hunter's bunt in the 9th with Dirks on first and no outs was one of the worst things I've seen all year.OK, maybe we don't have the bullpen issues totally ironed out yet.
We are, generally, getting nice seasons from Infante and Peralta. Huh.
Hold runners? We were sitting down the first baseline and Valverde never even looked over at the runner. Any player could have taken second base. The fact that he is throwing 99% fastballs is troubling. A couple of years ago Valverde had a good splitter and slider that made his fastball more effective. Don`t know what his fastball was hitting yesterday but it did not look like he was blowing guys away.Porcello pitched well today, he deserved better. I noticed that Porcello has gone longer - and been effective - with his pitch count lately. It seems he can get to 100 pitches without blowing up ...last year, I seem to recall anything beyond about 80 pitches was very iffy. So that could be a very encouraging sign as he has gotten older (and stronger)?Porcello pitched well today, he deserved better.OK, maybe we don't have the bullpen issues totally ironed out yet.

90.6% fastballs. In his first year with Detroit he threw 47% fastball, 53% splitter. When he can't throw the fastball for strikes he's screwed but the good thing is the velocity is there, which it wasn't last year.Da Guru said:Hold runners? I did see the Hanrahan blew his arm out. Who is out there. Brian Wilson?
