Oklahoma Could Have Three of Top Four Picks n 2010 Draft (1 Viewer)

it is interesting that the two Oklahoma schools were less than stellar this season (due to a myriad of reasons including graduation, injury, suspension, etc) but still should have several first round picks.

Oklahoma:

Bradford

McCoy

Trent Williams

Gresham

Oklahoma State:

Okung

Dez Bryant

Plus a few potential second day picks: Cox, Franks, etc.

There is some talk that the Redskins might prefer Williams to Okung which would give the Sooners three top picks in the draft.

Mayock said that the last time 3 players from the same school went in the top 10 was Auburn in 05.

Ronnie 2, Cadillac 5, and Carlos Rogers 9.

Hey Bob if you were building a weak team-would you rather the best T or a little bit lesser T that can also play C or G?

hard to answer without specifics...is it a LT or RT...generally i prefer greater talent, but position versatility is handy...sometimes you can get that from a reserve swing player.

sorry thought it was more obvious-okung and trent

How about potential top picks from the Big 12?

Oklahoma:

Bradford 1?

McCoy top 3

Trent Williams top 10?

Gresham first round

Nebraska:

Suh top 3

Oklahoma State:

Okung top 5?

Dez Bryant top 10

Texas:

Earl Thomas top 15

Sergio Kindle first round

I believe Penn State had three in the top ten one year with Collins, Brady and Carter plus a few years later pick one and two overall with Arrington and Brown.

And Jason Campbell went later in the first round that year. That Auburn team also had Devin Aromasahdu and Ben Obomanu at WR along with at least 3 other players who are in the NFL right now. Yet despite going undefeated in the toughest conference in America they get no shot at the title. Talent plus on the field performance and they get no shot at the title. Gotta love college football.

Stoops sure can recruit. Too bad he can't coach.

Yeah that comment was far off the mark.Try to change it positive-Stoops' recruiting is interesting. There's a ton of OK high school kids that go play ball at other colleges, even major colleges like OK State that don't even get a sniff from OU.I didn't expect "Oklahoma's University" to have a ton of Oklahoma kids but they don't have a whole lot more than walk-ons to fill in on special teams. He has a real high standard for talent and sticks to it no matter what, I really appreciate that. I live in the same town as Derrick Locke that is Kentucky's starting RB. He was 2nd team ALL-SEC and will probably be a 5th or 6th round NFL pick next year if his 4.3 speed doesn't jump him up the charts in the post college season workouts...anyhow, OU never even contacted him and he's 2nd team All-SEC now. He was one of the better HS RBs in Oklahoma for 3 years too. Not even a letter or a phone call.Sure OU would take a 2nd team RB now but I am referring to out of high school only. I didn't mean for an OU is better than SEC inference.

No one is going to hit on everyone. And Locke probably would have only been a backup to Murray/Brown at OU anyway.

maybe so. I was trying to be positive. I don't have an issue with it at all. I find his recruiting very interesting.I used to think that most of the "best RB in state" from HS can attend their state's big college if they're a (fairly) top talent. Like suppose some HS RB is the 10th best RB in the country, that he'd be given an "automatic" shot at playing for his state's best college. Well I was wrong and find it interesting that that's not the case.

Not sure why OU players are rated so high, but then again I'm not sure why OU is rated as high as they are to start most seasons. Hook'em!
