(Opinions) Drafting AP #1 scenerio (1 Viewer)

I currently sit at pick #1 overall, 12 team non ppr league. Home league which solidifies 2 or 3 QBs going before my 2nd round pick. I am 99% positive Jimmy Graham will fall to me as well as an elite WR in the Julio/DT/Fitz range.

Does anyone think it is feasible to NOT take a RB in rounds 2 or 3 (MJD/Murray/Miller) and instead take Graham and the top WR available locking up the #1 RB/TE/Top 7 WR then filling in my RB 2 out of the Mathews/Gio/Bradshaw/Vereen range?

I know many are aiming to get 2 RBs with their first 3 picks but I am highly considering drafting the best player available and would believe AP would outscore my opponents RBs weekly while I gain an advantage elsewhere.

Thoughts? Thank you.

I am looking at this exact Same scenario. There is 3 teams that every year will draft a qb in the first round. I would take that in a heartbeat them fill rb2 with a high upside guy lacy, Bernard, etc.

Just had this scenario in a draft last night.

#1 - AP

#24 - Graham

#25 - D Thomas

There's #1 RB, #1 TE and top WR.

Have you inquired about trades? Just throw it oud see what you get. Last year i went fishing nd caught an early 2, mid 3, and a 5th for the 1st over my 3 and 4 rounders. I would see wht you get offered. I dont see much difference between the top 4backs when you look at total yards.

Chances are good that Lacy will be there at 4.12, and there is so much non-RB value out there in the 2.12/3.01 range. Could also skip Graham and grab two elite WRs.

You could easily end up with something like...

1. Peterson

2. Julio

3. Graham/DT

4. Lacy

5. Nicks/Mendenhall

Looks like a pretty good start to me.
