Orioles opening day tickets (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to get tickets to opening day for the O's/Yanks. In past years, they gave me a presale because we usually go to a game per year and I buy them from the team. This year, there was no presale (at least that I am aware of) and the individual tickets were supposed to go on sale this morning at 10.

Problem is, opening day isn't one of the ones available. Do any of you O's fans know if they're only selling them as part of a package deal or something, or if there will be an upcoming date that they will be available alone?

The Phillies do the same thing. They don't put a few high interest games available for single games tix at at first. They offer them as part of packages (season tix, 6 game plans etc.) Now they have a lottery for opening day and Red sox. O's probably doing something similar.

:lmao: At least the Phillies won the WS last year. The Orioles are as close to a mortal lock for last place as you can get. It's annoying enough as a non-fan; I can't imagine being a fan of the team and getting forced to buy a package just to get opening day tickets. Though I do realize this is the route several teams are taking.

The Phils aren't even guaranteeing all their partial season ticket holders Opening Day tickets. They have to go into a lottery.

God, you're annoying. The arrogance you portray because you ROOT for a team is astounding. I hope you and your fellow fans pay through the nose.

Anyway....the Orioles did have a nice 29 game package for seats in the lower second deck behind homeplate for like 358.00. That gives you 4 Rays, 3 Yanks, 3 Sox, 2 Angels, 2 Indians and a couple of NL teams. I thought about getting it.

Seriously, I apologize if anything came across the wrong way here. I'm saying I feel badly for YOU guys because your ownership (which is probably one of the worst in all of sports) is forcing you to pay for 20 games just to get to go to opening day. How in the hell does that make me arrogant or annoying?ETA: Please don't take offense to the ownership comment either. I'm not trying to get in a "dig" or anything; just stating something that countless others have said for years. The O's used to draw 3.5 million in their sleep, while last year's attendance was under 2 million. The team obviously hasn't been successful for a long time, either in results or attendance figures. So to force people to buy 20 games for a team that they only want to see once or twice seems unfair to me. If you like the current setup, more power to you. There aren't many true fans like that, who will go see a team through thick and thin even when they're struggling AND buy 20+ game packages in a poor economy to watch a team that is likely going to lose somewhere between 85-95 games. I meant nothing against you or any other O's fans, and I'm really confused as to what I said that was so terrible.

Sorry Michael. I came across harsh in my post. I understand that the Orioles are going through a rebuilding era. A VERY long one. The "as close to a mortal lock for last place as you can get" rubbed me wrong. Even if it may be true. This is the only game all year that will be sold out to a majority of Oriole fans. A lot of the tickets are offered in a package to promote attendance at future games. The majority of tickets are distributed through local business, radio stations and other promotions.

They will release more tickets closer to the game date. If nothing else, standing room tickets can be bought a day before or on game day. Honestly, studhub or something alike may be your best bet.

No worries. I'm a Charger fan and I didn't always take it well when people dumped on my team when they struggled. The mortal lock comment wasn't trying to rub it in as you now know, and it was more a knock on the front office for trying to squeeze more ticket sales out of fans when they haven't done their part to put a quality team on the field recently. And yeah I know the logic behind it makes sense from a business standpoint, but I've always been against this form of marketing, as well as the price tiering that some teams do for the so-called "bigger" games. I just like uniform prices across the board, the ability to buy the game(s) you want, etc.

I went the Stubhub route for my first game at Camden and got real good seats but had to pay a premium for them. Last year I was able to do the presale and had my choice of games, and was disappointed to have not been offered that this time around. Either way, I'll do what I can do get them...even if my fellow fans and I have to pay through the nose! :lmao:

You can get Opening Day tix even if you buy a 6-game package. I don't blame the Orioles marketing Dept. for this -- Opening Day is bascially the only bullet in their gun (other than selling out to visiting Yankee and Red Sox fans), so they have to maximize what they do with it.

It sucks that Opening Day is now the only day of the season that carries meaning for an Orioles fan. What Angelos has done to this franchise is sickening -- he truly killed the golden goose.
