Other Chargers Being Pursued After Kiel Incident (1 Viewer)

I know the thread about LT got locked so hopefully that doesn't happen here but PFT has a report today about the Kiel story and I thought it was worth a read:

DEA PURSUING OTHER CHARGERS

A league source tells us that the recent arrest of San Diego Chargers safety Terrence Kiel might not have been an isolated incident, and that the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is still looking into whether other members of the team have been involved in sending prescription medications -- presumably obtained in Mexico -- to purchasers in other locations.

Kiel was sending codeine-rich cough syrup back to his home state of Texas, where the substance is an ingredient in the popular buzz-inducing concoction named "purple drank" or "lean." (As a fellow Simpsons aficionado pointed out to us, why don't they light the thing on fire and call it a "Flaming Moe"?)

Though we don't know who else is being investigated, other Chargers with Texas connections (either by hometown or college) include cornerback Quentin Jammer, receiver Keenan McCardell, running back LaDainian Tomlinson, and running back Derek Farmer. Former Charger Hanik Milligan, who was cut during the preseason and signed with the Cardinals, went to college in Houston.

We seriously doubt that Tomlinson, an elite NFL player who hardly needs the extra money, would be involved in a risky proposition like this. But after the events of the past few weeks there is nothing at all in the NFL that ever will surprise us again.

Read the article carefully. No other Chargers are being pursued. All it says is that guys like LT2 and McCardell have family connections to Houston. Thats a very far reach IMO - its really a joke trying to suggest they are implicated.

Better change the title of this thred because its very misleading.

Um...it says a lot more than that they have connections to Houston. The connection to any specific players is based solely on Texas connections, but the fact that members of the team are being investigated is definitely there.
the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is still looking into whether other members of the team have been involved
They may not find anything on anyone else, but it sure sounds like they're looking. Unless Florio's "League Source" is the assistant editor that syrus heard from, or he got it by reading this board  , it sounds like yet another source saying there's smoke. Maybe they're just doing due diligence and checking all of Kiels's acquaintences, including all Chargers, with ties to the same area. But it sure sounds like they're looking. It's a good thing that other thread got poop-canned because of all the people blasting it. Nothing ever comes from rumors like that.

Read the article carefully. No other Chargers are being pursued.
You might want to ake your own advice there, skippy.
Just read it again there "skippy".What part of this is so difficult for you to understand:

Nice try, but he was referring to re-reading THIS part:A league source tells us that the recent arrest of San Diego Chargers safety Terrence Kiel might not have been an isolated incident, and that the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is still looking into whether other members of the team have been involved in sending prescription medications -- presumably obtained in Mexico -- to purchasers in other locations.

Being "pursued" and the DEA "investigating" are two completely different things. Still misleading...

you are out of your mind. please let it go.

I think Profootballtalk took this from our thread here yesterday. They mention the same names, and come to the conclusion of why would LT2 do such a thing?

Than again how can you question all of PFT's unnamed sources.

Check that out, we're officially a "league source"
