Outlook for Dayne in 07. (1 Viewer)

If Dayne has let say 120 yds and 1 TD in Houton's last game ( Very possible vs Cleveland ) he would have run for 550yds and 6 rushing TD's in the last 5 games .

I think they have their featured back for the next two seasons with Dayne and instead of looking at wasting the money on a free agent RB or waste a first round pick on a RB they can really try to improve at QB and defense and maybe a #2 WR .

Dont tell me its Dayne he cant do it on a long period , c mon it would be 5 very good games in a row .

Not all against bad defenses OAK - TEN ( not at the beginning of the season but now ) - NE are very good run defenses .

SO i think he deserves a shot at starting in 07 since DD's career as a featured back is over .

He's done well and will probably be in the mix next year. Kubiak is a Shanny disciple though and seems very comfortable trying different guys. Some of that was obviously out of necessity since they couldn't get a running game going but he's worth a flyer.

I must have missed the press conference where this was stated.Sure Dayne has a chance, so does Lundy and DD. Gado is probably a goner. Kubiak might also draft a back to compete or take over.ETA: Dayne will be 29 at the start of next season so he is not exactly a spring chicken either, although for previous performance reasons I'll grant you he has little wear. DD by comparison is 27.
