Where would you set the over/under for TDs for SJax next year? This year he had 4, but if he had had 10, he would've finished in the top 5 for RBs in my .5 ppr scoring format.
I'll go with 7 as well.A major factor in the Rams' ineptitude has been injuries. This year: QB:Bulger played 7 full games, then Boller got hurt as well. Rookie Keith Null gets thrown to the wolves.WR: They let Holt go, but have young developing WRs to bridge the gap. They acquire Laurent Robinson from Atlanta. Their assumed #1, Donnie Avery, starts off with an injury that requires surgery. He plays 16 games, but is not close to 100% to start the season. That's okay, Laurent Robinson is looking very solid, with 87 yards in game one and 54 yards and a TD in game two... then he blows out a knee in game three and is out for the year. 2nd year WR Kennan Burton is doing halfway decently after Robinson goes down, getting 22 catches in 6 games.. then he is lost for the rest of the year in game nine. They finish the year with Danny Amendola and Brandon Gibson getting starter reps... yeah, nobody knows who those guys are.RB: Yay! Steven Jackson plays 15 games and is the only bright spot on the offense!Couple these injuries with another season of multiple offensive line injuries and we get the debacle that was the 2009 Rams "offense". In summary, Jackson once again played very well on a star-crossed team. 1700+ yards in 15 games... you have to like 100+ yards per game as a players FLOOR.Edited for spelling.
If Vick goes to St. Louis, it may a positive effect of S-Jax based on Vick's ability to break containment. It seemed that CJ really took off this year when VY became the starter.
With a veteran QB via trade, I would put total at 11 TD's.
If SJax could score 7-12 TDs next year, no reason to think he shouldn't be a surefire 1st round pick imo and a top 5 fantasy RB. Only wildcard could be offseason surgery/health concerns?
4 TDs is his ceiling? Jackson was only the second RB in NFL history (along with Barry Sanders) with 1700+ yards from scrimmage and 4 or fewer TDs in a season (with my point being that it is incredibly rare for a player to accumulate as many yards as Jackson did and score as little as he did). As long as he continues his 100+ yfs/g pace, I would expect more than 4 TDs from Jackson in 2010.
