Owen Daniels w/ Sage at QB (1 Viewer)

Based on the numbers (and my feeble memory), it appears as though Daniels is less productive with Rosenfels at the helm than with Schaub. Here is Daniels' targets for the year by week (bold are the weeks Sage started/had significant time):

1,6,7,8,7,9,5,6,5,Bye,5,9,6

In the Sage weeks, here are his actual numbers

Wk 7: 2-20

Wk 8: 4-35

Wk 9: 4-41

Wk 13: 3-42

His numbers have been significantly better with Schaub in, so I am trying to get some insight as to Sage's MO, as it appears Daniels is not his safety blanket as he is for Schaub.

May be overthinking but it's playoff time, so any edge is worth it.

TIA

I think its more an issue of Schaub running the offense and Rosenfels being more of a freelancer. Schaub hangs in the pocket and goes through his progressions patiently (sometimes too patiently), so when Daniels flashes open, Schaub feeds him. Rosenfels is not nearly as consistent about hanging in and surveying the field, so Daniels numbers have suffered when Rosenfels has been in.

FYI - Daniels is probably the least physically talented of the top 15 TEs, which is part of the reason his TD total is so meager - you have to generally have a physical trump card to play (bigger, quicker, stronger) to get open in the end zone, and Daniels is just an average physical talent at TE.

i just looked this up , too. i'm playing daniels with carlson on the bench. looked like more yards with schaub, but two of his three touchdowns were with sage. i'm leaving him in. (didn't look at receptions, since this league doesn't count them)

just realized you bumped last year's thread, so you don't have the last few games of the season.

Here's the missing info for the last weeks of '07 with Sage at the helm, targets, catches, yards and TD's. 2 TD's from Sage in 4 games. I'll take that over Carlson.

14 TB 5 targets 3 catches 20 yards 1 TD

15 DEN 4 targets 3 catches 53 yards 0 TD

16 IND 8 targets 2 catches 27 yards 0 TD

17 JAX 3 targetst 1 catch 2 yards 1 TD
