Owners Of BOTH Charles And Davis - What Are Your Plans? (1 Viewer)

Not a WDIS question or anything, but curious to see what folks who own BOTH Charles and Davis are doing.

The Chiefs playing at 4 tomorrow complicates things, as I highly doubt that if Charles is ruled out, it will be before the early games start.

So most likely either Charles doesn't play, but it's not announced until after the early games start, or Charles does play but as part of an unknown time share.

Obviously also depends on one's other starting options, but what say you if you definitely plan on starting Charles or Davis (or both)?

Would Charles travel to Miami and be deactivated? Serious question, is this a common occurence?
Lots of guys are game time decisions and don't play after warm ups determine it. I don't see any difference here, just that you're talking about a top tier player.

Going to wait till game time and start one or the other (not both).

I don't have any better options to throw in otherwise (Turbin, Baldwin, Hunter)

My guess is that Charles does not play or is extremely limited. Go with Davis.
I'm thinking the same.Part of me would be more than happy to start Davis and see Charles go off with his normal workload. Obviously means he's healthy.

My plans aren't changing......12 pack of Negro Modelo on ice and bacon wrapped jalepenos stuffed with cream cheese. Starting Davis with confidence.

I have both in two different leagues and am really hoping Charles is not active so Davis gets a full game .... I have Davis in the lineups now and hope there is nothing to make me re-consider. Miami is not that bad against the run to make me start both and in the higher $ league I have better options anyway

I'm almost thinking if Charles is active sitting him, starting my #2 & #3 RB's Bush and Ridley, and putting Wright in my flex. But that's crazy.

If Charles can go I have to start him. Way too much potential. If Charles is active and you bench him he will score 4 touchdowns just to spite you. Charles does not like being benched.

That being said, I really hope he isn't active, I like my chances starting Davis with Charles getting rest. If he can go I won't start both him and Davis.

Does anyone know if the "HAS" is on the same foot that he injured moving boxes?

Just pure speculation, but is it possible that he isn't completely over his preseason injury? I mean he didn't exactly tear it up in week one, and the Chiefs curiously did not go to him much at all.

My gut and superstition are telling me Davis has a big day. I had a trade for Davis on Wed and it got vetoed Fri because Davis's value plummeted and the trade became very lopsided.

Therefore, Davis has a huge day sitting on the guy's bench who still has him. That's just what happens in FF.

Not sure anybody here goes on Reddit but there is one user there that claims to have a source inside the Chiefs and says the Davis is the play. Obviously take it with a grain of salt since this is the Internet and everything, but anytime I see someone that confident I tend to take notice.

Someone else posted it in the Charles thread. May be true, but hard to buy without a source.

Would Kniles Davis be a legit source?

I agree. I think the hardest part for me to believe is that the Chiefs have a hard decision on what they are doing with Charles a day or two ago. The guy may be telling the truth assuming Charles' health stayed the same, but if he felt better a few days later then they could adjust their game plan. He doesn't have to be a liar to be wrong. The Chiefs may not know the answer themselves at this point.

I personally won't be starting Charles this week and wasn't planning on it even before I read that. Unfortunately the league that I own Davis in is not the league that I own Charles in. I think I'm going to start Davis though and even if I owned them both in the same league I'd do the same. I have a very hard time believing Charles will be his traditional workhorse when he's so injured and Davis looked so good.

This tape is from Thursday. Dated already, perhaps?

As a Davis owner, I'll start Davis with confidence if Jamaal is inactive, but if he's playing, JC is the man there and starting Davis before we see what shape Jamaal is in, could be treacherous.

And another big-time bummer is this game doesn't start until the afternoon, so those with morning options only, will have to decide well before they announce who's playing.

I honestly think that even if Charles is active, the risk of disaster is still higher starting Charles then it is with Davis. I think even if Charles plays, they split carries. And if Davis looks good again, why risk using Charles? I think the only reason they should be risking Charles is if Davis looks bad and it's a very close game. Just my opinion though.

Pretty simple, if Charles is active im starting him unless reports say he will be an emergency option only. I try not to overthink these things

Starting Davis if Charles is deemed inactive before first games. If there is no decision to who starts between JC/KD, yet I am starting Pierre Thomas....PPR league. 0-2

Hate these kind of decisions though...always make the wrong one.

If Charles is active, he's in my lineup. The Chiefs wouldn't waste the active roster spot on a gimpy Charles.

I feel the opposite, even if Charles starts he isn't likely to have a big day. If they get behind they will throw and if they get ahead they will be quick to put Davis in. I am going to start Knile Davis because I feel he has a higher ceiling today. Though I could change my opinion with some last-minute news.

Plus it'll be fun to have Jamaal Charles on my bench next to Adrian Peterson.

I'm 0-2 and feel this decision to start or sit Uncle Charles is going to define my season.
Exactly. I have no other option for the late games. Gotta pull him at 1 or ride him to 0-3. Yikes.

I'm going Davis or neither. Charles has led me to 0-2, and that's in two games where he started the game healthy. Now he's gimpy, and the MIA defense aren't pushovers (better than average, only gave up 1 TD the first two games), and there's just way too great a risk of him either getting limited snaps or aggravating the ankle in the first quarter and then sitting.

So, I'm going Davis at most. I've got Vereen, CJ2K and Trent Richardson as my other options. If the Charles news is looking positive closer to game time, I may bench Davis as well and pick 2 of these three other guys. If Charles news is the same or he's looking worse, I'll play Davis.

I think this was a great post. When a teammate answers a media question that Charles is "out", it was no slip of the tongue.
