Packers Offer 1st and 4th for L.J. (1 Viewer)

I haven't been a big fan of Thompson's and I don't have a lot of faith in him at the present time. If he made this deal, that opinion would change. I would like the fact he's making a strong and aggressive move to add a major upgrade to this team's offense.
Can you elaborate on what you don't like about Thompson? I've heard this from others, but I just don't get it. What I like about him:1. He drafts well2. He doesn't overpay guys3. He completely rebuilt the linebacker corps in two years4. He finds free agents that fit the scheme and doesn't over pay. He doesn't hit on all of them, but Pickett and Woodson were awesome finds last year.5. He hold players accountable, unlike Sherman. If you don't perform, regardless of your draft position, you're gone. Pretty simple. Sherman was loyal to a fault.
:lmao:

POSTED 5:08 p.m. EDT, April 26, 2007CHIEFS HAVE GOTTEN NO FIRM OFFERS FOR L.J.A league source tells us that no firm offer has been made by the Packers for Chiefs running back Larry Johnson, or any other team. But the source specifically used the words "no firm offer," which suggests that there have been discussions. The source also says that the Chiefs have not given Johnson's agent, Alvin Keels, permission to shop for a deal with another team. But it's now obvious to us that the Chiefs are willing to move Johnson. As we understand it, the overriding issue is the money -- specifically, the precise amount that it will take to get Johnson under contract beyond 2008. Johnson apparently wants far more than the Chiefs will pay, so the Chiefs are looking to ship him off to another city.

Geez, if L.J didn't like KC...he's going to despise GB.
Indeed. He has said KC is full of the "Bush republican crowd"....Wisconsin is ideologically similar to the KC region.
there is much truth to this statement
It was the only State that Mondale won and isn't as Republican as many think it is. There is a lot of democratic support in Madison and Milwaukee not to mention electing Russ(I never met a tax I didn't like) Feingold to Senate.

Good correction.. I was thinking about Dukakis.Since the rise of Wisconsin folk-hero Robert La Follette, the Upper Midwest has been dominated by maverick political figures. Hubert Humphrey and Walter Mondale, two famous liberals who lost presidential elections, both called Minnesota home, as did progressive icon Paul Wellstone. In the 1980s, Democratic presidential candidates capitalized on these progressive roots. Reagan lost both times in Minnesota (it was one of only four states carried by Carter and the only state carried by Mondale) and in Wisconsin, he won by considerably smaller margins than in the rest of the country. Dukakis picked up both states (two of his ten total) in 1988, and Clinton won both states by big margins in 1992 and 1996.

Appleton, home of the International Headquarters for the John Birch Society. Wisconsin is an odd state, in that it is overwhelmingly conservative, yet very progressive and forward thinking. (The opposite of your usual conservative/Republican stereotype) Sorry for the :hijacked:
