Palmer/Stanton (1 Viewer)

Haven't seen any threads on this topic -- searched for them -- apologies if this is duplicative.

Surprised I can't find more information/news on this situation.

Any expectations re: how long Stanton remains starting QB, even if/when Palmer gets healthy?

I just lost RGIII in a deep 2QB league and I didn't have Cousins on the bench (ugh). Only backup QBs I have are Glennon -- hopefully a starter very soon -- and Stanton, who I was able to grab off waivers, thankfully. Still, desparate times for me.

Thanks for any thoughts.

I like what Stanton has shown so far... hopefully the Cards ride him for a while (at least until he loses one...)

Let Carson rest his sore shoulder. No need to rush him back. Drew is playing well. Don't throw a monkey into the wrench.

Not looking good for Carson. Really got to start to wonder if/when at this point.

Carson Palmer will seek a second opinion on the nerve issue in his throwing shoulder.
After signs of progress last week when Palmer threw on the side at practice, his status for Week 5 is headed back downhill. Palmer was reportedly noticeably down on Monday when he tried to throw on the side. It appears better than 50:50 that Drew Stanton will get another start. Arizona will be cautious with Palmer.

Stanton's exceeded low expectations and has played fairly well but at this point Palmer is the clear starter when healthy. If Stanton throws up a few lights out performances and wins a few in a row maybe he could steal the job but that seems rather unlikely at this point. Now in regards to Palmer, it's anyone's guess how long he's out.

This is all quite obvious. That being said, I think Palmer is done for the year. That's nothing more than a hunch and reading the tea leaves.

It wasn't obvious to the OP. Not everyone can be as smart as you.

Anyone picking up Stanton to start against Denver this Sunday? Looks like it could be a shootout and both teams coming off a bye. I'm worried about FBG's ranking, but I think he's got a decent shot of at least duplicating his stat line against the 49ers a couple weeks ago. I've already dumped Brady for whatever's on my wire, and Stanton was it.

It's going to be a long long day for the Cards and Stanton (and healthy day for Den D) if this is a shootout.

Stanton's played 2 well managed, error free, games. He's done exactly what a backup should do -- give his team a chance to win. Pretty much all they can ask of him.

If Palmer is starting this week, is he a solid play versus washington? I didn't get to see the Chargers game, but his stat line looked good.

He's been limited the last two practices, and Arians has said he needs one full practice to play. Perhaps he joins my revolving door of mediocre quarterback play this week.
