Palmer's rehab "delightful" (1 Viewer)

CARSON-MANIA: Another reason Williams stuck around: Palmer. And Williams has been delighted by what he’s seen from Palmer’s rehab.

“I’ve seen him throwing the ball around in the locker room a little bit, and he looks good, I’m telling you,” Williams said. “I think he’s going to be just fine, just fine.”

Palmer has apparently been going on the field at Paul Brown Stadium the past few weeks and started his throwing routine. He has reportedly started off very slowly, but is dropping back and throwing some long ones.

I agree. Very positive....

...except that I wonder why the dude even mentions that Palmer looked good throwing the ball around in the locker room... maybe Carson has had a few slam dunks on the Nurf hoop in his living too! :P :P

I am glad to hear of the postive news regarding Palmer -- he seems to be a class act. But I do agree the locker room comment seemed kind of odd...

Palmer manlove aside, the guy has Payton Manning-like upside if he continues healing this well. Definately good news for us owners!

When is Palmer expecting to play?

Culpepper said in an ESPN interview that he expected to be ready for Week 1. He has since delineated that may have been a bit too optimistic.

Might we be hearing the same from Palmer a month from now? Is he expecting to play in Week 1?

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Bengals win out upon Palmer's return in early-midseason, especially given the relative easiness down the stretch.

Even with a dismal start, I see a likely playoff push and eventual berth for this team.

But I also heard Culpepper say that he had some uncertainty, knowing that few players have ever come back from his injury. I expect Palmer to start by week 4, playing at about 90%. Given his age and long term dynasty value, that's just fine by me. That extra month will do him good.

I am not sure I understand this quote. Assuming Palmer returns in Week 6 (Week 5 is a BYE), the remaining schedule is this:Week 6: @Tampa Bay

Week 7: Carolina

Week 8: Atlanta

Week 9: @Baltimore

Week 10: San Diego

Week 11: @New Orleans

Week 12: @Cleveland

Week 13: Baltimore

Week 14: Oakland

Week 15: @Indianapolis

Week 16: @Denver

Week 17: Pittsburgh

You are deluding yourself if you think that is an easy schedule. I would be VERY surprised to see the Bengals (or any team) go 12-0 during that stretch.
