Let's be honest, there are tons of great $25-75 leagues that get advertised on these boards. And sure, they're fun to play in.
But some owners get inundated with belonging to too many of these common format, low dollar, similar leagues. Perhaps they would like to take all the money they are spending on the small money leagues, and play in one league with more complex rules, higher prizes, and perhaps, more serious players. Players with some real skin in the game.
We have three leagues this year that I believe will quench the thirst of the above players. Each are $200=250 entry. And of course, as I would strongly recommend to anyone contemplating joining a league for over $40-50, the money is held by Leaguesafe. Why even think of any other option.
1) DYNASTY Draft with IDP. This is about as immersive of a draft experience as you're going to get. Worthy of the dozens of hours you'll invest building your dynasty, draft pick by draft pick. Made to mimic the real NFL, there are 32 teams, all in their respective divisions. 53 man rosters. 21 starts, balanced between offense and defense. To make this "feel" like a more usual 16 team dynasty, but still inclue all 32 teams, we have two copies of each player, although it won't be strange as the system will never allow both copies on one team. Imagine the trading possibilities with 1500 players on 32 teams, with so many draft picks! You'll never be bored, looking for a way to improve your team. Developmental rookie taxi squads. IR. Etc. Lots of fun decision making year round, and built to last the test of time. We have about 20 of 32 teams available. The entry for this is $250, plus 1/2 of the following years deposit. Rules
2) DYNASTY Auction with IDP. This 16 team format is almost full. We've been surprised by interest here, including one of the staff of Footballguys who will be joining us. This is a great, challenging format where you have an auction for the vets, then sign contract years according to your liking, and have to deal with wage inflation, holdouts, franchise and transition tagging, etc. We draft players each year right after the NFL draft, but other than that, it's auction based. The entry for this is $250, plus 1/2 of the following years deposit. Rules
3) ANNUAL Auction with IDP. This is just your simple 16 team team "annual" like a common yahoo league, but we do it via initial auction, which is fun, relatively fast paced, and creates a much more memorable experience than your typical annual draft. Many players join this as a "test the waters" step to Paragon, and then jump in feet first into all the leagues the following year. They get to try out the auction format, scoring, site, etc. The entry for this is $200. Rules
I understand that lots of players love playing in low stakes games. Higher stakes games are definitely more serious. People pay a lot more attention. They think twice before pulling that trade trigger. They weigh each draft pick more carefully. But is that a bad thing? Players in our leagues love the group of guys, level-headed, eager to banter and trade, serious, and pleasant to interact with.
We think we've got some great leagues here, guys. We're looking for a few good people to join our leagues, already filling fast.
