My league awards 2 points per pass deflection. Last night Urlacher clearly deflected a pass intended for his receiver in the end zone. He knocked it away and the receiver had no shot. Initially it showed up as a deflection on CBS. Today it is gone. What is the likelihood it reappears.

Also, this is not the first time this has happened. How can something so obvious be so in question?

Is there a reliable source that tracks this stat even?

If so could someone provide a link?

I know nfl.com tracks PDs in thier player stats but it seems moreso after the game has been finalised. I never see that in the live game stats only the game book.

Supposedly in the live game stats when a pass is incomplete and they mention a defender in the play description that means it was a PD. But I know that is not consistent with the PDs in the game book.

Many errors are made in live game stats and corrected later.

This has always been the problem with IDP and why I had issues with using it before is that the stats for IDPs are much less reliable.

The way the game statisticians track the game is also pretty questionable when it comes to IDP as has been mentioned before about them awarding phantom tackles to star defensive players at home.

It may just be a result of pure laziness.

This is not the only thing that disappears on CBS. If you notice that once the game is over that FF disappear too but come Tues morning they are there. Yahoo shows PD live as well.

It's frequently both teams. They do have guys who get to the ball on D, but it's pretty ridiculous.

Urlacher clearly knocked that pass away. Shady if CBS took that PD away. He got the PD on NFL.com.

PD is for passes defensed. A player doesn't have to deflect pass to get credit for a PD. Michael Boulware had a PD Sunday nite on the play that knocked him out.

I am not sure if I have ever seen so many in one game before.

What's really scary is that I saw a good bit of the game, and I'm thinking that number might not be really inflated much. I'm pretty sure he broke up 4-5, and then there's the pick.
