**Patriots at Titans** ( -3.5, 38) 1:00 (1 Viewer)

This one is an easy one to decipher.
It's a "Lions Effect" game.
The "Lion Effect" is 100% this year.
The game after playing The Lions no team has won their next game
The Titans not only played The Lions last week, they got mauled.
Easy...

Team That Did Not Play The Lions Their Last Game- 23
Team That Did Play The Lions Their Last Game- 20

With Drake Maye playing, are the Titans still a good team D to start? Or are they just going to go through the motions?
No
Their starting corners are out. They do have nice depth but they're not pro bowl caliber.
Sweat is probably sitting.
They traded away (one of) their ILB that was playing great.
Simmons has a contraption on his arm toughing out a UCL tear.

Denard Wilson is my early choice for (fictitious) coordinator ok the year since they still have the top defense in the league but it's like he's got bandaids all over it now. I think it's best to marvel at Wilson's coaching and go with another team instead.

I expect the Pats to run a lot of Sweat doesn't play- a real lot.

Sidenote-
Chestnut may be good. If the Pats choose to sort of dare the Titans to run, I think they will accept that invite.

It could very well be a lot of running in this game.

These are historically bad special teams units. The Titans have allowed three or four punt blocks this year and Detroit nearly broke some record last week with return yardage.

The Pats are better but not too much.

This is definitely an SFB matchup and big returns may really impact stats

I’m not sure the titans score today.
But I’ll say 17-10 NE.

Is it too early to talk about the next titans QB that will be poorly developed?

I’m highly skeptical here. He has shown glimpses but I really don’t think he’s “good”.
Are the titans looking to trade pollard?

"Preseason stars" have become good players and not good players many times.
It could certainly go either way.

Pollard- I wouldn't be surprised if they were. The GM seems to have convinced the fan base that 4th and 5th round picks have more value than they do. Supposedly any older player is available. There's an air that they are starting a rebuild right now as if the GM hasn't been there two years.
I'm quite unhappy with the Ernest Jones trade and the logic he shared.
I am not comfortable with people shining on the GM of the worst team in football.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if he's traded. The logic of him back to the Cowboys is especially strong too. That's the rumor by fans by me but there's zero reports of it so it's 💯 fan gossip.

Quandre Diggs is playing very well but some thought he was done before the Titans signed him.
Arden Key had a couple sacks but was demolished on big runs as happens with him so he probably needs to be situational.
No one is taking Ridley's contract.
Can't trade injured players so the CBs are staying.
Landry, yep I could see that.

There could be a move or two, maybe Pollard. I just hope the fan base actually gives him flack when the fifth round pick acquired gets drafted and isn't as good as Diggs, Landry, Pollard...whoever they give up.

I need some wins. I need to not be asked for patience.
Sheduer is a common one mentioned as is Ward.
Can they please sit while a capable veteran plays for a year or two?
We're the bad Browns teams right now and about to draft Kizer.
No one has a big personality or impact like Baker (in life or) in this draft so idk that a rookie can change things.
Is there a Stafford we could trade for like the Lions? I'd settle for not good Aaron Rodgers giving me foolish hope

Radunz has been pretty good at RG. He settled down and has finally been ok. He's out today.
Brunskill will replace him. He had good and bad days last year.
All three RTs are active setting up a possible confusing day for the right side of the OL.

This isn't good for anyone on the Titans offense

No thanks to either.
They’re not a QB away from winning get SB. they’re a QB away from the playoffs. Is that enough?
Wouldn’t think Atlanta would trade cousins, probably isn’t worth the cost and $ anyway.
I’d settle for Fields for a year or two.

The Patriots are rolling out yet another O-line combo today:

LT Lowe
LG Jordan
C Brown
RG Robinson
RT Onwenu

Their eighth different starting five in nine games

See this is what good teams do 🙃

Pollard looks spry

I'll never understand why Whyle is part of every scripted opening drive, does fine, and doesn't get much work after that

Minutes before this, I put Chestnut as a DFS captain for a lottery ticket play.
Pollard looks fine sooo I already lost that dollar spent

There was no blocking for Chestnut. He had nowhere to go. Then Rudolph threw to a smothered Ridley.
Drives like that make me question Callahan

The Pats are doing well stopping the run and from there IDK whether to compliment them or call the Titans play calls dopey.

What an amateur thing.
The veteran QB fires it to Chig that's close to him and surprise he can't handle it so it pops up in the air and the Pats get a freebie INT

The prior two teams picked on Gibbens.
How come the Pats watch game tape and don't do the same? They should have a dozen passes to the slot and TE by now

Clearly Mayo follows this thread and decided to do this

If you follow HOF writer Jim Wyatt for any of his thirty years, you'll recognize how funny this is:

A terrible ending to the first half for the @Titans. Hard to explain all of that

Cal Ridley was a waste of time
Pollard 100 yds, another workman like effort, was hoping for some cheap TDs today but the Titans aren't much better if at all vs the Patriots

I think that was the first time Chestnut had some room to work with.
Pollard has definitely got the lion's share

Rudolph threw that one pass over two defenders and right on target to him and he dropped it.
I keep wondering what it's like to be his QB. After so many drops, it's human nature to develop doubt

That was a nice story with younger Rudolph and Maye vacationing and Dad's being friends.

I don't think I've heard the sideline reporter much at all today
