I was rooting for Gutierrez to stick somehow. He was ahead of Cassel at one point. He was the QB at the nearby high school and teammates with RB Maurice Jones Drew, WR Demetrius Williams, and linebacker DJ Williams.

They were undefeated during Gutierrez' whole HS career. The school is a football factory and holds the record for most consecutive wins at 151. Toomer and a bunch of other NFL guys went there too.

Guiterrez is turning into the Lou Merloni of the Patriots...he seems to get cut and/or signed every other week.

The Chiefs claimed Gutierrez off waivers and released Inge Martin.
