According to Fox Sports New England (by way of a Patriots beat writer from the Herald) . . .
Bill Belichick has apparently explained that the Patriots will not be trading Daniel Graham this year no matter what rumors are to the contrary. Graham is healthy and hopefully will spend less time blocking, and the plan seems to be that the team will be using 2 and 3 TE sets extensively, most with both Graham and Ben Watson in patterns at the same time.
They also are enamored with Dave Thomas from Texas and report he catches anything. This has prompted them to try to get all 3 TE in the game at the same time, as they are not sure there's a team out there that could cover them all on the same play.
You can draw your own conclusions on how this impacts Watson's numbers, as I haven't figured that out for myself yet.
