Pats are -1800 on the money line this week @ Miami (1 Viewer)

Do you know how rare it is to be -1800 on the road in the NFL???

For the non-gamblers, this means that you would have to risk $1,800 on the Pats in order to make yourself a measly $100!

On the flip side, a $100 bill will earn you $1,300 if you take Miami to win straight up and they happen to shock the world.

========================

Total points for the game (under/over) is 51½.

New England's team total is 34 (the number of points they will score by themselves - you wager over or under)

Miami's team total is 17½

Maybe the Dolphin ghosts come back to protect the undefeated season and Miami stuns the world.

NFL teams rarely go undefeated. So these 4-0 5-0 8-0 teams do lose. And it's often to unlikely teams.

$100 for $1,300 is pretty decent odds in an NFL road game.

The Dolphins do have something to play for (snapping that undefeated streak), Ronnie Brown is playing well and the Patriots just came off a big win on the road. I don't want to be the weird contrarian to say the Dolphins will definitely win, but I see the game being close in the 4th quarter. Brady can be pressured into bad throws-- he was a bit off in the beginning of the Dallas game. A few breaks here and there, and it could be a one-score game late.

Come on. The Pats will win this game easily. Maybe the Bellicheeats will stay under the spread so they can all make some money ? Pat's roll!!!!!!!!!!

I like the Pats -16. Miami has nobody but Ronnie Brown and Jason Taylor. Keep in mind the team that beat New England last year is sans their QB (Harrington), RB (Sammy Morris), WR (Chris Chambers & Wes Welker). Ronnie Brown could rush for 600 yards and they'd still lose by 20. And for the record, I hate the Pats.

During the Patriots' scandal earlier this year, one of the things that came out was that, among other things, the Dolphins had been mic'ing their defensive linemen during games to steal audibles, and that that's why they'd done so well against the Pats the last few years. With the NFL cracking down hard on any kind of untoward behavior, especially in Pats games, Miami won't be able to do that this year. I don't know how much that has to do with the "Patriots always struggle in Miami" theory, but it's worth mentioning in case anyone is using that as their line of reason for betting this game.

Whatever the reason, the defense is what gave New England problems in Miami recently. This edition of the Dolphins defense is flat-out abysmal. 182 points against in six games! Don Shula is rolling over in his Craftmatic bed. :lmao:

The Pats should be able to name the score.

Take the Pats giving 16
This is where I disagree. This is a trap game if there ever was one. The only thing not making it the ultimate trap game is the game is not sandwiched between Dallas and Indy (Washington is next before Indy). I'm a Pats fan and I trust the Pats never look past an opponent, but strange things happen down there in Miami. I'd take the Dolphins with the points. They may not win (God, forbid), but I bet they cover.

Gotta go against you on this one. I think a ton of Pats fans are expecting a let down, just because this is one of few games on their schedule where they can easily lose ATS but still win the game, and in the end, that's all they really care about. Sports fans are superstitous (so are gamblers, especially gamblers) and something doesn't feel right to them picking for a team so many weeks in a row.

So you like Olympic huh? Pinnacle is 10 times better.

The line opened at -14.5, it has shifted 2.5 points in 5 days. If I had to take 1 team to cover it would be the Dolphins.

In 2004 the Patriots were 10 point favs at Miami, Miami won SU, so you never know in this matchup.

Interestingly, Miami has been in every game this year. If they had any kind of defense, they could easily be 4-2 or even 5-1.

As a Dolphins fan, I fully expect an AFC East team to hand the Patriots a loss. It may not be this week. It may be the Jets or Bills instead of the Dolphins. It's going to happen, though. That's just how division play works in a good division, even in a down year for 3 of the 4 teams.
