Pats vs Jets (1 Viewer)

Brady's definitely getting slowed down this week. Id expect somewhere in the 280 and 2TD range. Special teams may play a big factor in this one. Both teams have pretty good return games. And while I dont expect NE to lose, they just wont win 50-10 like Im sure all the fans were hoping for. Probably more like 28-10. New England's gonna dominate this game upfront on both sides of the ball, and prove to everyone they can run the ball when they need to. Ive got a feeling NE's Oline and RBs are really looking forward to this one. My xfactor in this game is Chad Jackson. Outside of Moss, he'll be the fastest guy on the field. And the last thing anyone would expect is a deep bomb to Jackson. I think he'll run a straight line 'go' and get behind the Jets coverage for his 1st score of the year. Just a hunch.
Brady sux!

This is really the most compelling storyline in the game IMHO. I keep seeing people say they CAN run, but they have yet to prove it. This may finally be the day we get to see if they really can walk the walk as it were.
Theyve dealt with quite a few challenges this year. Including handling a pretty nice secondary at the time from DC. I expect this Sunday, theyll once again be wearing their 'walk'ing shoes.

I am going to laugh my ### off when Brady has a monster game in horrible weather. I have never seen so many people wishing bad luck upon a player in my life. Bad weather will do nothing but kill the defenders as they slip on their ### trying to keep up with NE's receiving core. Hopefully, the same happens to NE's defense, that way Brady keeps throwing TD's all game long.

Says the Brady owner who would be hopping on the bad weather band wagon if he was going against him.

In reality the Pats have shown that adverse weather conditions don't necessarily slow the passing game down. Of course, this doesn't mean that they will not run the ball 35 times and pass very little. I think that at this point it's foolish to say that Brady won't have a superb game even in these conditions.

No, not really. I hope that my players do good, and I hope that they do better than my opponents players, of course. But I never go as far as to look at the weather forecast, praying to god that a blizzard hits him and ruins his stat line for the season. I enjoy watching the games, and seeing how they play out. Especially with Brady in a record breaking year. I have Brady in one league, and play against him in another. In the league that I own Brady, which I am #1 in right now... I have only had one game that I won due to Brady having an amazing game... other than that, I would have won my games with my back-up QB, because my entire team is good. I am tired of everyone in my league crying their asses off about me winning because of Brady, when half of my games would have been won, with NO QB AT ALL.... I play the waiver wire hard, and had a great draft. Also, did some great trades early in the season that worked out for me. Rather than give me credit for playing a great year, everyone wants to act like any person with Brady on their team is a ####ty FF player who tripped over Brady in the draft and got lucky. Yet, for some reason... 3 QB's went before Brady in my league, and I planned on drafting him as my first QB option anyways. The worst one is the two guys in my league, who one drafted LT off the bat, and the other drafted Peyton Manning in the first round. Those two complaining about Brady! WTF? As if they weren't hoping those two players would do what Brady is doing right now. Isn't this the point of Fantasy Football? To have players on your team that win you games? Yet, the "Brady Owners" have this tag of "they are only winning because they have Brady", and it is pathetic and annoying. I almost wish that the rest of my team sucked, and Brady was carrying me... that way I could just be like "Yep, Brady is carrying my team... too bad all of the players on your team suck so bad that they can't beat one guy. In the league that I don't have Brady, I already beat him earlier in the year.... and that is with having Derek Anderson off of the waiver wire.

This is how good the Pats are. Their best chance at avoiding an undefeated season (apologies to the Giants) is an act of God.
No it just shows their total reliance on the deep passing game. Get them into a muscle game and they are average at best. Good luck with the 2 home games in January.

the game hasn't even been played yet :pics: the pats will roll in january too. just give it up already.

Sunday: Periods of snow, heavy at times, during the morning will transition to a wintry mix in the afternoon. High near 35F. Winds ENE at 20 to 30 mph. Significant snow accumulation possible.
:suds: Brady opponent...and J-E-T-S fan. Sslooowwinnggg thee gaaamme doowwwnn woouuld bee niiiccce...

QB's dont have much trouble throwing in Snow...a little trouble throwing in rain...but if there's sustained winds of 25+ mph & gusts up to 40+, that's where the stats are greatly effected.

Though they can dump off and/or throw 5-10 yard passes w/long YAC.

Of course, if the wind is bad then there goes the kicking game, which may mean the Pats offense is playing four downs instead of three....

(Not that there really was a kicking game to start with, of course...)

Even if they can manage to put together a decent/nice rushing day, I really don't think it says much - since it's vs. the NYJ @ home, one of the league's worst vs. the run (#30) As a playoff owner going up against Brady, I pray the OP is right, and they run it 40x.

I will consider it. I do get a litte excited about FF to be honest. I am two games away from winning $400, and I have a lot of fun with it. However, I would like to counter with the observation that you have been posting on this site for over 4 years... I would guess that it is a bigger part of your life, than it is mine. If the running game picks up, whathya think that might do for Faulk? I'm debating whether he might be good for a TD and 100 yards combined receiving/yardage... otherwise I'm stuck with a crap shoot third tier WR I gotta start..

Sorry, but you would be wrong. I am playing FF for the first time in 6 years this season and am in exactly one league at the office. My postings here (until this season) had nothing to do with FF.

Just going back to the Post Topic...

Weather Update from www.weather.com...

By Sunday, strong low pressure will head from the eastern Mid-Atlantic to off the New England Coast. Heavy snow will fall across western and northern New York and northern New England with foot-plus amounts likely. Heavy snow over southern New England will change to sleet and freezing rain by midday with rain by afternoon in coastal areas. After a period of heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain will attempt to move up the Hudson Valley with any mix changing to rain in New York City around dawn. Rain will fall from Philadelphia across New Jersey. Interior Pennsylvania will see sleet to the north after heavy snow and freezing rain to the south from the Laurel Mountains to the far western and northern suburbs of Philadelphia. As the storm intensifies and heads northward the mix and rain areas could change back to snow late Sunday into early Monday before ending. Strong winds will also develop that could damage trees and power lines in some areas especially where ice coatings become significant.

I stand corrected. This is the first year of fantasy football for me. Although, I watch football a great deal. I am #1 in my money league with my friends... and I am #2 in my NFL.com league, that I did for the hell of it. I didn't even pay attention to my nfl.com league for the first 5 weeks, and they did an auto draft for me. I turned my team around just off of the waiver wire. Still, I hardly ever check my online team. I will admit, that the money league that I am in... has me all amped up on gamedays, and I watch football and check stats all day long. I guess that is just because money is involved.

You would think that Faulk could have a big day in the passiing game, as Brady will most likely have to check down a good bit, if the winds are high.

Nice diatribe. Ever get the feeling maybe you take this stuff a little too seriously? (If not, you should consider it...)
I will consider it. I do get a litte excited about FF to be honest. I am two games away from winning $400, and I have a lot of fun with it. However, I would like to counter with the observation that you have been posting on this site for over 4 years... I would guess that it is a bigger part of your life, than it is mine. I just speak my mind freely.... and that is how I feel about the "non Brady owners" this year.
If the running game picks up, whathya think that might do for Faulk? I'm debating whether he might be good for a TD and 100 yards combined receiving/yardage... otherwise I'm stuck with a crap shoot third tier WR I gotta start..
My above post is a reply to you.

lots of people scared of what bradys going to do to them :bag:
For me - not Brady so much as Moss and Welker...Well, and then I guess by extension Brady..... :coffee:I'm thinking 100 MPH winds and sleet, along with a white out still won't stop Brady this season. :PI really love watching snow games myself, so regardless, I hope there are lots of them this weekend.....

Any owners who own brady in one league this week, and are also playing against him in another league this week?
I can do even beter than this, I own Brady and am playing against Brady at the same time...4 separate divisions of sixteen teams in each division, we are at the final 4...My matchup has me playing Brady against Brady...This poses an interesting option, my other quarterback is Warner who had a great match up against New Orleans...Obviously if we play Brady against Brady it doesn't matter what the weather is like or what he does but if the weather is really bad I could start Warner instead of Brady and hope for more points in his game...Wow this is going to be a game time decision, should I sit Brady and essentially get 0 points for the QB position or go with Warner and hope he outpoints Brady because of the weather in New England...

You would think that Faulk could have a big day in the passiing game, as Brady will most likely have to check down a good bit, if the winds are high.
This is a GREAT observation. I can say as a Pats fan that Faulk is a high-level producer in cold weather, especially in crappy conditions like this weekend. He's usually had his biggest games when opposing defenses can't account for him and he gets in open space.

If i am your opponent, this is exactly what i want you to do.

a) That made my head hurt....b) I would start Brady - I wouldn't take the chance of having Brady on my bench and gambling on another QB in my playoffs. At worst you block out and counter his Brady points....

I have one wish for Christmas.........

I hope Brady goes back to pass on Sunday in the 18 inches of snow and 30 mph winds......

Slips in the snow.......

And tears every single muscle in his knee.......

PLEASE.

Have you ever met him ? Well i have and i can tell you he is as down to earth as any regular guy you`ll ever meet. He has never been one of these athletes that are always in the news for negative reasons...never in trouble...ect; I`m not sure what your qualifications are to label someone a great guy but those i listed work for me.

He may be a nice guy, but not sure those things qualify him as a "great person". I certainly dont think not doing negative things makes someone a great person either. One example of the top of my head is Warrick Dunn. I believe he has helped like 60+ single mothers buy homes. That would be the sort of thing i think would make someone a great person.

Anyway, i know that is not the point of the thread, so i will stop now.

I have never rooted for someone to get hurt until this season. What the Pats are doing to other teams is disgusting. They are totally disrespectful and don't care about anything but themselves. And they are cheaters to boot. Yea. Brady is a great person. I was indifferent on my opinion of Brady up until this season. I have seen just about every one of his press conferences and interviews. Brady is an arrogant ##### who DESERVES to have a career ending injury. If nobody can get to him, perhaps the snow can take him out!The only person I would rather see fall to their knees in pain is the classy ### hole known as Bill Belicheat......KindlyBIGG Johnny

I would not be totally against Brady taking a clean shot while trying to run up the score that might knock him out a game or two, but i think this is taking it way too far.

Bro` it`s an expression...i`ve called people i know personaly that if talking about them i have said ''oh ya joey gugootz...he`s a great guy...great person...ya know ''....i`m not comparing brady to martin luther king or somethin`.

This is how good the Pats are. Their best chance at avoiding an undefeated season (apologies to the Giants) is an act of God.
No it just shows their total reliance on the deep passing game. Get them into a muscle game and they are average at best. Good luck with the 2 home games in January.
Pats have a great short passing game as well. Seen Wes Welker play this year?Pats defense is built for a muscle game. They are a little slow but have excelled in the past few years in bad weather games.Brady has a lot of experience in bad weather games as well.
