Best Ski Weather34 PM']

Hate to say it....as I'm a Moss owner in two leagues but I'm a big skiier and subscribe to www.bestskiweather.com .They are rarlely wrong when it comes to snow. They are calling for 1-2 feet between Saturday and Sunday in parts of New England and close to or just outside Boston. Good for skiing....bad for my fantasy team.

And it's supposed to be windy too.
My understanding is that its going to start snowing (possibly a noreastern) sunday afternoon, into Monday.
Read their report again, not one mention of Monday.....Saturday and Sunday is what they are saying. They can be wrong, but they rarely are FWIW.
I am actually basing my understanding off of the local weather here in PA and the weather channel.
I see. This site I'm referencing makes their money on forecasting where the snow will be and they are very good at it. I'm heading to Stratton, ski resort in Vermont this weekend, and just told my manager to not be surprised if I'm out on Monday because I'll be snowed in.You guys can check out the front page, you don't need to be a subscriber to see the headlines of the stories:

FWIW, they are saying this storm can move very quickly north on Sunday. They are also saying that they don't have the best handle on the path of the storm (which is unusual for them) but that NYC TO BOSTON MAY BE SPARED the brunt of it.

I believe the storm has been officially designated Hurricane Shuan Ellis :football:

Mother of god, i'm playing Brady in two money leagues this week. Only a natural disaster can help me :scared:

Yeah, it's early in the week, so it'll be interesting to hear the weather reports over the course of the week. Bad weather could affect a lot of fantasy playoff games, not to mention bettors.

www.weather.com UPDATE

A winter storm impacts the Northeast today

6:06 a.m. ET 12/13/07

Chris Dolce, and Wayne Verno, Meteorologists, The Weather Channel

Severe Weather Outlook Submit your own video

A quick-hitting winter storm will bring heavy snow to parts of the Northeast today.

Heavy snow and winter storm warnings have been posted from southern New York and northeastern Pennsylvania to much of Southern New England.

Some cities included in the warnings are Binghamton, N.Y., White Plains, N.Y., Hartford, Conn., Providence, R.I., Worcester, Mass., and Boston, Mass.

Accumulations may be in the 5 to 10-inch range in these areas with snowfall rates of 1"+ per hour at times making travel very treacherous.

New York City will likely see accumulating snow, however with sleet and rain mixing with the snow and warm ground temperatures totals may be held down in the 2 to 4-inch range.

Southern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey will see a mix of snow, sleet and rain, while south of the Mason-Dixon Line, mainly rain showers will prevail.

Attention will then turn to the central Plains, where a new winter storm will be taking shape on Friday.

Heavy snow will develop from the Front Range, into the western Plains, and then spread into parts of the Mid-west Friday night, into the Ohio River Valley on Saturday.

Meanwhile, locally heavy rain will develop across the Lower Mississippi Valley, and into the Tennessee Valley.

Saturday and Saturday night, rain will change to snow through the Tennessee Valley, with heavy snow developing into the Mid-Atlantic.

A new low pressure will form off the eastern New England Coast by Sunday, bringing heavy snow and wind to the New England States. :moneybag:

BAHHAAHAAA! Even here in phoenix the news is saying this . . . . .

"Nasty ice and snow storms in the mid west will be making the track back east and hitting the new england area through out the weekend"

Christmas may have come early!

from whdh.com

Saturday Night and Sunday: Not easy at all.

With a huge wound up storm, like the one that's moving in, track plays a huge roll in what type of precipitation we see. So...it might sound like we're flip flopping and won't commit to a certain forecast, but we're doing the best we can with the data we have. As I see it right now...snow will move in Saturday night. We could see a couple inches of accumulation before we have to deal with any kind of changeover. Warmer air looks like it might get wrapped into this storm...so we may see snow changeover to rain completely, mainly southeast of Boston. Boston and points north and west will see snow changeover to a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain. Western and northern MA have the best chance of seeing all snow. The storm is still 3 days out...a lot can change...

So much for my Brady to Moss connection. Great drafting, killing people all year, then this #### happens.
Yeah well they killed me all year but I am still alive and I draw Brady. Revenge for that Skins game!

Funny - I am in the exact same situation. Brady killed me with that last useless drive vs Washington. If that drive does not happen, I would have had a bye and a 2 seed rather than a 4 seed. Now I face him again. Bring on the blizzard!

Could be snow, rain, or rain/snow mix - depends on he path. Regardless, there will be a lot of moisture and most importantly VERY strong winds. The wind is the thing here.

Just saw this on Rotoworld...I highlighted what's interesting.

Ben Watson-TE- Patriots Dec. 13 - 4:35 pm et

Ben Watson (ankle) was limited in Patriots practice Thursday.

Watson has been struggling, with only 15 catches in the last five games and multiple mental mistakes. In what may be blizzard-like conditions in Foxboro, the Pats' passing game could come back to earth Sunday against the Jets.

Ok...just watched the local weather man and it sounds like the storm ,as far as foxboro is concerned, will be a snow to rain event with high winds all day....the heaviest snow will be north of boston.

From accuweather.com for Foxboro

SUNDAY (DAY)

Windy; snow, sleet, and freezing rain in the morning followed by afternoon rain

SUNDAY (NIGHT)

A bit of sleet and freezing rain in the evening; otherwise, rather cloudy and windy

Doesn't look like snow, but snow is probably better for playing in anyway than sleet.

I'm hoping for at least 6 inches of sleet, if its measured that way. Go NE DEF/ST. I need 8 sacks, 2 INTs and 2 fum recs with at least 1 TD. That's all.

Can we get a guarantee out of a (hopefully drunken) Joe Namath on this game? Maybe an interview pre-game with Suzy Kolber?

More snow, more rain, more wind!!!!

Ok, I'm still on this.....here's the latest from the site. Northern Vermont, Adirondacks, Central New Hampshire and Maine are going to get hammered with snow. EASTERN MASS right now is a mix. Snow and sleet....I don't think it's going to be as bad as first thought. Wind gusts in the 30's though.

Rotoworld:

Tom Brady-QB-Patriots Dec. 14 - 10:09 am et

The weather for Sunday's Jets versus Patriots game in Foxborough will feature heavy rain and windy conditions with gusts up to 50 MPH.

There were some thought that it could be a blizzard-like day at Gillette Stadium, but the forecast now calls for the snow to change to rain prior to game time. As with most inclement weather NFL games, the big factor will be the wind and its effects on the passing game. While we would never advocate benching Tom Brady under any circumstances, this is something to be concerned with.

This is how good the Pats are. Their best chance at avoiding an undefeated season (apologies to the Giants) is an act of God.

Nothing better than a game played in a blizzard... especially your favorite team against a rival division team (Jets hatred extends back to the Parcells/Curtis Martin days).
See, I was thinking the same thing... but my hatred runs the other way, with Belly-chick leaving us high-and-dry. At least I've ALWAYS been a Pats hater though and don't just hate on them this year, right? :)

With the super high winds possibly negating any lossing passing game by either side, would it make sense for Mangini to use Pennington at QB for this game? The short dink-an-dunk offense seems like a natural for a high-wind scenario.

Maybe an interview pre-game with Suzy Kolber?
I'd do Suzy. She is kinda sexy....and I'm not even drunk.Jets have a sliver of hope now cuz the Pats can't run too well. I think the Jets D steps it up a notch this week.....well, that and 50mh winds.

I disagree, you can cut through the wind with a strong arm better than a weak. Even Boller looked decent against the Pats on that windy day a couple weeks ago.

It'd be real embarrassing for Pennington to have one of his passes blow back in his face.If he did play however, I'd be willing to bet he'd break the record for recptions by a QB.

The storm will pass through before the game. Every time that I have checked the forecast so far, they have moved the arrival of the storm UP to earlier in the day. Eventually, by the time sunday rolls around the storm will have passed through Sat night. They can just cover the field, and Brady will still be on pace for 7 TD's Sunday.

Says the Brady owner. Not says Weatherunderground. If this does move up and is worse, we can hopefully have a frozen sheet of ice for the field.

Not likely, the field is heated and in the past couple years it's done a very good job of keeping the clear.
Dammit. Throw me a bone. Heaters are going to malfunction and short out due to rain.
I wouldn't worry too much about the field. It will be what's happening to the ball while it's in the air that slows down the offence. My highest scoring player, Moss, won't be seeing any 50 yd TD in that wind. The snow/rain would actually be good for him, as he could just motor straight by the DB who would slip turning...but the wind will likely make it impossible to throw deep.

They just did a live interview with the NE weatherman on ESPN 2. He said it will be snowing with it changing to rain and freezing precip DURING the game.

Brady's definitely getting slowed down this week. Id expect somewhere in the 280 and 2TD range. Special teams may play a big factor in this one. Both teams have pretty good return games. And while I dont expect NE to lose, they just wont win 50-10 like Im sure all the fans were hoping for. Probably more like 28-10. New England's gonna dominate this game upfront on both sides of the ball, and prove to everyone they can run the ball when they need to. Ive got a feeling NE's Oline and RBs are really looking forward to this one. My xfactor in this game is Chad Jackson. Outside of Moss, he'll be the fastest guy on the field. And the last thing anyone would expect is a deep bomb to Jackson. I think he'll run a straight line 'go' and get behind the Jets coverage for his 1st score of the year. Just a hunch.

This is really the most compelling storyline in the game IMHO. I keep seeing people say they CAN run, but they have yet to prove it. This may finally be the day we get to see if they really can walk the walk as it were.

How do you know you need that already? Did you and your opponent start all the players in the Den/Hou game?

Amazing how many people are playing against Brady this week. He's carried FF teams.

The guy in our league who drafted him in the 2nd round, has the worst all time winning %, and nobody else worth a dime on his team outside of Brandon Marshal. Yet he's in the semifinals of the playoffs thanks to Brady scoring 40 pts/g in our league. QB tds are 6 pts.

His party comes to an end this weekend.
