Paul Posluszny - for clarification... (1 Viewer)

I love this guy from PS, but I can't get a straight answer to what is going on in Buffalo. With all these injuries I'm hearing about, is he a good play from here on out? I don't quite understand NFL defenses overly well (other than Madden  ) so as the Bills change their scheme every week, I'm not sure which is the most beneficial to him. Is he still playing the MLB spot or do they have 4 LBs now?

I want to play him every week, but it's hard to keep Curtis Lofton on my bench. Thanks for any input as always!

Regardless of what front they've used (3-4, 1-gap or 2-gap, 4-3, 44 or 46), Posluszny has either been in the most advantageous tackling position or the best player in the box. With the tackle opportunity likely to continue to be high, he's a safe LB1.

Lofton is supposed to start but limited with a knee in practice. I'd think baltimore is the better match-up unless your scoring values assist's which are much easier to score in buffalo.

hahaha....I had been reading some cool articles detailing the various defenses probably a year ago, so I thought maybe I could google them --- but look who came up first on the google list.............http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/09...efenses-part-1/

anyway, they had been playing 4 down linemen and 3 linebackers (4-3) last year, with poz in the middle, but switched to a 3-4 this year (4 linebackers).

of the 2 inside linebacker spots poz had the better position for stats, but then a couple weeks ago they started transitioning back to the 4-3, but with poz as wlb instead of mlb, and andra davis in the middle.

like you mentioned, they've had some casualties at linebacker, and their alignment is probably still fluid, but as poz has been producing in this new 4-3 I wouldn't worry about it too much.
