Payton say "Reggie Bush is their Pick." (1 Viewer)

His exact words were - He's our pick at this point. And while he was very excited talking about the possibilities of getting him, he hedged several times about not trading out.

Why wouldn't he say this?  I would assume that he's looking for someone to bite.
The way that the coaches are sounding on the radio, they are not bluffing. A few of the coaches have come on saying that coach Payton is smiling from ear to ear, and is already planning ways to use Bush. Take it FWIW.

I never heard "at this point." Of course he's going to hedge a bit about trading out. Are you going to turn down some super crazy package of picks? That's what it's going to take to change their mind, IMO.

I'd think the people with the 1.1 in rookie drafts (& Deuce owners, obviously) are a little disappointed right now. Until Deuce leaves, it's unlikely Bush will reach his production potential.

I don't know Deuce's contract status without looking. Anybody know?

He signed a 7-year, $50 million dollar extension last summer.

Thanks, Exile. I even see there's a thread about it. I guess I'm blind.

I read somewhere that McAllister could be cut without too much of an impact after 2006 (Something like $5 mil).

Bush just walked across the stage on NFL network. He looks like someone ran over his dog.

He should fire his agent.....
