Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
More and more mock draft sites, like this one, are projecting the Raiders to take Hali. I saw a few Nittany Lions games this year, but I don't remember Hali standing out.

He looks a tad on the small side to overpower a typical NFL tackle, and I seriously doubt he has Dwight Freeney-caliber speed. So what will he bring to a team on the next level?

TIA

The man is the real deal. He was one of the biggest reasons PSU turned it around. The boy is still a little raw and will be something special in the NFL. He is very smart and constantly beat double teams in NCAA. It won't be easy in NFL, but I look for him to do better than Courtney Brown did.

Thanks.I'm hoping he shoots for doing "better than Courtney Brown."

You must have watched their early season games because from about week 4 on announcers gushed about him non stop. He's the real deal.

did you see the Ohio State game? He basically single handedly won them that game.

He nailed Smith for a sack and fumble that PSU recovered to seal the deal. It was a nice play for sure. Of course he was untouched as I recall. It would of been hice if our TE (Ryan Hamby) would've attempted a block on hism Maybe things turn out differently in that game. But do not take anything away for Hali as he made the play at a crucial point of the game. Also, I remember a special CBS did on him telling his story. What struck me is that this kid is seriously hungry. It's hard to stop someone that's as hungry as he is.

He is the classic tweener type DE a on the samll very quick and tuff. I would like to see him go to a 3-4 team and would be a outside Lb in the mould of Willie McGinist, and mike Vrabel, Kevin Greene, terrell suggs. has long arms so could cause problem even if can't get past the OTs. He also has room to grow will be a good one especially in a 3-4 D

I wouldn't call him small or expect him to play LB at any point. He's a little over 6-2 and weighed in at 267. You have to remember how young these guys are and almost all of them beef up considerably in the first couple years. Hali will probably be playing at 275 next season and around 285-290 for most of his career. From what I saw, he looked like one of the two or three hardest workers out there. If he wasn't already ahead of Kiwanuka, he certainly is now. From the Rams at 11 to the Eagles at 15 is where he probably gets drafted. The Raiders will probably have a shot at Ngata or Mario Williams. I like Hali a lot, but I don't see him in Oakland.
