Just reporting what I heard on ESPN 103.3 in Dallas. Rumor states that Romo to play at some point during the regular season. I know Parcells likes this kid...but geez.

Ed Werder just said on 103.3 that a coach on the Cowboys staff told him that he expects Tony Romo to play at some point this season even if we were in playoff contention!

And I don't mean a few mop-up snaps... I think he might even have used the term "take over for Bledsoe"... But I'm not sure. I was only halfway paying attention until hearing that.

He also said Romo outplayed Bledsoe in camp last year... And that Romo has been assured that this will be an open competition in camp this year.

Wow.

ed werder is a tool. he gets all his facts wrong and just creates controversy. like the parcells will retire junk.

all that's clear right now is romo will probably start the first preseason game, and parcells would like to know what he has in romo.

Werder lives in Dallas and has a lot of ties here... I wouldn't be surprised by any Dallas-related news he has to give. Evidently Romo has shown a lot of growth as a project QB and he may be ready to take the reigns.
