Percy Harvin tweets he is having surgery on torn Labrum (1 Viewer)

If his doctor says it then count me in. Ill predict he gets busted smoking weed prior to week 7. When Harvin gets bored, he gets baked!
Oh Keithy Lewis, don't be silly. Did RGIII's doctor predict he would start week 1 before RGIII? Don't sleep on the news....if you do you are likely too late.

The NFL only tests for weed once a year in the preseason, once you have taken the test you are done for the year. Its also legal in Washington, so police won't do a thing if he has it.

Harvin failed his drug test at the combine. It's possible he entered the league in the substance abuse program and is eligible for additional testing.

Possible.

I don't feel its a legitimate reason not to stash him. Do you?

Nope. I'm all-in on Harvin this year.

I'm kinda surprised Harvin is sitting out in a lot of waiver wires. If you have someone like Britt or Sanders as your WR4/5 this seems like a no brainer move. Why keep someone who isn't going to help your team at any point this season when you could get a WR1 for the second half of the season?

Not only that, you should pick up Baldwin until Harvin gets back. I understand Baldwin was playing the Harvin position last week, and the results are in.

i felt my drafts were bad enough to pick him up in all leagues. Nobody on the wire has as much potential as Harvin.

IMO, people should be looking at it from the opposite direction. The only league where I put in a waiver claim on Harvin this week was where I won Week 1 with the league's highest point total and feel I have the strongest team. On my 0-1 team, where I'm weak at WR, I went with Edelman instead.

If you had a weak draft, you need pickups (via FA or trade) who can provide immediate help. An 0-2 or 1-3 start (assuming you're 1-3 on merit and not just very unlucky) is a bigger hole to dig out of than most owners realize. Having a WR1 available to bring off your bench in Week 7 won't do you much good if you're sitting 1-5 at that point.

Any comments from Dr. Jene on this situation?

Trying to look forward. The way this works there could be some report that lo and behold Harvin is rapidly advancing, say week 5, then the mad rush.

Or is it week 6 to week 10 you're just waiting for a word, any word as to what's going on. Then he finally shows up weel 12, it takes a couple weeks to warm up... annnnd the season's over.

Have to take risks to advance, just not foolish risks.

I agree that Harvin is a stash for a strong team that could put you over the top heading into the playoffs.

I don't have a lot of depth with Vereen going down. I'm seriously considering dropping Vereen for Harvin...who comes back first?
Not sure...is Harvin allowed to practice with the team while on the PUP? It sounds like Harvin may be further along in his rehab than Vareen by week 10.

Pete Carroll said today Harvin was sent to New York to continue his rehab. Don't know if that's good or bad?
