The Packers don't allow too many points to tight ends. Plus, I like Will Heller a bit better.

Any thoughts on Pettigrew this week facing a Vikings team who struggles to cover tight ends?

yes I know, this is the Pettigrew thread started a while ago and I posted on it instead of starting a new thread. Isn't that the correct thing to do? I am not in charge or changing titles. BACK TO TOPIC AT HAND! CJ WAS IN LAST WEEK AND PETTIGREW HAD A BIG WEEK. Obviously having CJ in there as a decoy running down the field with 3 defenders is beneficial to Pettigrew. So, any thoughts on Pettigrew this week with a Vikings team who struggles to cover the TE and Megadecoy playing who will carry 3 defenders with him everywhere he runs on the field?

I think he's a decent start if you don't have any of the top 6-8 TE's for fantasy. Lions will probably have to throew a bunch, as usual. Anyone have any feeling on his dynasty outlook? Considering trading for him since I'm so desperate at TE.

I read somewhere that Nortcutt got benched, and Pettigrew was playing slot reciever which was why the big jump in numbers happened. If he plays the slot again, I may start him as my flex (TE heavy scoring league, don't ask) -PPR- over Kevin Smith. Any news if Pettigrew will play slot again this week?

O man nice. Read this from RTsports.com:"The real news at tight end came from the Detroit Lions. Casey FitzSimmons was targeted 11 times while Brandon Pettigrew was looked at eight times. Wideout Dennis Northcutt was benched and replaced by FitzSimmons in the slot (along with Derrick Williams), which is one reason FitzSimmons saw the field so much. Regarding Pettigrew, rookie tight ends tend to take awhile to develop; Pettigrew's blocking has improved in recent weeks, which helps his PT. The other first-round rookie, quarterback Matthew Stafford, also showed some rapport with Pettigrew, who caught seven of his eight looks."

That's been a strength of his from day one. Very rarely do rookie TEs put up stud numbers, and the Lions 2nd pick actually compares favorably on a historical basis.
That said, I don't see too many FF teams hurting for a solid TE starter in Week 10 unless its a Daniels owner still looking for a late season WW gem. In fact, I see more teams carrying backup TEs this year than any I can remember because there are so many good young ones (Celek, V. Davis, Finley, Keller, Olsen, et al) emerging or on the cusp.
Think there are better options in redrafts, but for a dynasty team he is one to keep around.

Ya well I am a Owen Daniels owner. In fact, here's my path of TE owning. Drafted Shiancoe as my only TE, dropped him and added Heath Miller. Traded Heath Miller+TJ Housh for Jennings+Owen Daniels. Had OD for like 4 weeks of the greatest time of my life owning a TE, had a huge TE broner the whole time. Then Owen Daniels dies, now I am left with nothing. The only TE's available for me to choose from are Fred Davis, Kevin Boss, Pettigrew, Fitzsimmons, Bo Scaife, and Joey friggin Haynos. So ya, I am in a hard way, and in desperate times comes desperate measures. I would like to roll Pettigrew over Fred Davis this week.
