I'm going to try to stay away from watching cable news shows. They're toxic. What about you guys?

What does this technically mean? Does Texas has a state law that forbids employers to allow rolling over vacation time? That would seem odd.Texas is a use it or lose it state
No, it means that the law does not prohibit employers from having use it or lose it policies. In California, those types of policies are against the law. What does this technically mean? Does Texas has a state law that forbids employers to allow rolling over vacation time? That would seem odd.
You don't have the option of having vacation time paid out in cash?I’m going to try to take more vacation. I got a promotion this past year and now qualify for four weeks vacation annually. In 2021, I used six days. Texas is a use it or lose it state, so I forfeited nearly 3 weeks of vacation at the end of the year. That’s just stupid and the result of my own failings and lack of discipline (delegation, trusting my staff, etc.). Going to do better in 2022. For my health and well being.
Nope. Use it or lose it policies are quite common in states that allow them. The point is you should be taking your vacation. It’s better for the employee, which in turn is usually better for the company. You don't have the option of having vacation time paid out in cash?
