It really is, and he really was a tremendous vocalist back in the day. "Cemetary Gates" might be the best combination of power vocals and melodic vocals within one song in the history of metal. One of the greatest metal vocalists.
Sad.
The combination of wasted, fat phil and dave grohls horrid stage presense really ruined that song.It really is, and he really was a tremendous vocalist back in the day. I saw the footage of him with Trujillo and Grohl doing "Ace of Spades" at the same event where all this went down and Phil sound aggressively bad. He basically ruined the song. Drugs and alcohol just kicked this guy's ### over time.
Hes just a pompous tool.Band always had the hooks. Too bad this guy seems to have some real demons to deal with.
Best damage control attempt ever.He meant white WINE power guys, settle down.
That was the most flaccid defense ever. Not worthy of the Kid.bananafish said:He meant white WINE power guys, settle down.

I think this thread is fuhrer game.Oops, Nazi.
It's ok to mention Hitler in THIS thread though, right? Oye.
Judging by his gut he is single handedly supporting american farmers.I was waiting for the next excuse to be that he'd actually said "WHEAT POWER" in a show of solidarity with the American farmer.

Pretty muchI didn't realiZe it would be a surprise that he feels that way. Obviously expressing it that way is way off limits, but I'm not the least bit surprised.
Panteta's first two records are phenomenal and, in my opinion, showed thAt a real metal band could have massive appeal. The band had personality and despite being heavy, they felt accessible enough to get some radio play (walk, gates). Growing up in Houston they were absolutely legendary even before their second record.
