Phil Anselmo....White Power (1 Viewer)

No longer welcome at that festival nor probably a bunch of others. He tried to apologize; I just didn't bother watching.

It's too bad the Pantera story wound up so awful -- they really were a respectable, if not great, heavy metal band.

Who couldn't see this coming? First thing i noticed when i was ordering was they don't even serve pumpernickel or rye bread. Only white. Great bagels though.

One of the greatest metal vocalists.

Sad.
It really is, and he really was a tremendous vocalist back in the day. "Cemetary Gates" might be the best combination of power vocals and melodic vocals within one song in the history of metal.

I saw the footage of him with Trujillo and Grohl doing "Ace of Spades" at the same event where all this went down and Phil sound aggressively bad. He basically ruined the song. Drugs and alcohol just kicked this guy's ### over time.

I didn't realiZe it would be a surprise that he feels that way. Obviously expressing it that way is way off limits, but I'm not the least bit surprised.

Panteta's first two records are phenomenal and, in my opinion, showed thAt a real metal band could have massive appeal. The band had personality and despite being heavy, they felt accessible enough to get some radio play (walk, gates). Growing up in Houston they were absolutely legendary even before their second record.

The combination of wasted, fat phil and dave grohls horrid stage presense really ruined that song.

Band always had the hooks. Too bad this guy seems to have some real demons to deal with.
Hes just a pompous tool.

And im saying that as a big fan.

Might be genetic. I know a guy who is a carbon copy of anselmo. I mean they are like the same person. Hes even from NO

I was waiting for the next excuse to be that he'd actually said "WHEAT POWER" in a show of solidarity with the American farmer.
