Phil is good.
Let's not get carried away. I'll wait for Doug Christie's opinion on this."In Too Deep" is the most moving pop song of the 1980s about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting.
Agreed, which makes the poll confusing. As a drummer...top notch. As a vocalist...just OK.
Always been a big fan of Turn It On Again, Abacab and Mama.
'I don't care anymore' is criminally under rated relative to 'in the air'.
I think "Invisible Touch" was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility."In Too Deep" is the most moving pop song of the 1980s about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting.
Forgot about that. Would've voted other.GDammit ...Chrissssssss!!!
How come you didn't say, First off, how are you?
If that means we never have to hear the songs Su Su Sudio or Another Day in Paradise, then I'm all for him going back now.I saw a documentary that included Collins. Best I can remember, he started singing and writing songs because his marriage fell apart. He had two children and a wife and it went sideways so he came out from behind the kit and became "Phil Collins." He said in the documentary that he feels blessed to have had the success he has had, but most of the times he thinks he would trade being Phil Collins the singer for simply going back to being Phil Collins the drummer, happily married father of two.
The lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock."In Too Deep" is the most moving pop song of the 1980s about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting.
If that was the Genesis documentary, I saw the same thing. Although the main reason why Phil became the frontman was the fact that Peter Gabriel had just left the band. They were trying out people to be the new lead singer, and Phil was always having to show them how to sing the song. The other guys finally decided that Phil was doing a good enough job, so why look elsewhere.I saw a documentary that included Collins. Was going to say the same thing.Don't see it on the list but personal favorite is I Wish It Would Rain Down. Phil with Clapton, awesome track and combination.
