Philly situation (1 Viewer)

Okay so based on yesterday's performance by Garcia where do you see him going? Yes he threw for a high percentage but the lack of arm strength totally wiped away the deep threat Philly could often exploit. We saw Feeley get some mop up duty but I am raising the question here first... Garcia's interception late in the 4th showed he and his arm or shoulder hurting. The cameras moved to him shortly after warming up on the sidelines and he obviously said (by reading lips) "I'm fine." About 2 minutes later we see Feeley in the game. Was this precautionary? Do you think Reid wanted to see what Feeley could do in a 2 minute drill? Will we see a change within the next week or so?? What's your thoughts..

Garcia played well and did exactly what was asked of him. They do need to take a chance now and then with him down field though. Feeley sucks...end of story!

Garcia did nothing to warrant a quarterback swap going forward. He completed a high percentage of his passes, he showed resiliancy and courage in leading his team despite several large deficits, and he didn't turn the ball over, for the most part.

And by the way, he didn't throw an interception, he fumbled the ball when he was blindside sacked.

Garcia has well-known limitations as a QB, but he's also very good at some things. I'd forgotten how quick his release is on the slant passes - I don't think there's a QB in the league who is as fast getting rid of the ball. He's tough, mobile and accurate, and he knows the offense. That's all you can ask for in a backup QB.

Unfortunately, his lack of arm strength guts the Eagles' big play abilities - Stallworth's hamstring is probably irrelevant now given that he won't be catching many passes anyway.

the wr's are now useless on this team all i needed was 2 pts in a ppr from stallworth to win my game and just barely got it. westbrook is going to brake down soon because of all the pounding he will be taking

Garcia was much better than I thought he would be. And, oddly, his lack of arm strength led to better playcalling by the coaches. They called way more runs than usual and were clearly aiming to sustain long drives, rather than relying on McNabb to make a quick-strike big play. Feeley came in because it was a blowout by that point -- you often pull the starting QB then.

The problem was the defense.

Yes that was a fumble rather than an INT, my mistake. I completely agree with you all in the fact that Garcia did all the right things. Now it was mentioned that Westbrook will likely breakdown which will deflate that short game. I guess I feel Garcia's fate rides on Westbrook's health. I don't think either Garcia or Feeley are particularly "good" but arm strength has to play a role in the near future. This week was just a Go Out and See What You Can Do week playing Indy. There next 5 but for our sake 4 games are crutcial. I don't wish injury upon anyone but that's what I'm anticipating. Any of these guys could break a sweat...

Frerotte- About the time Bulger gets banged up especially with Pace out.

J. McCown- Detroit is in their own world bashing former players in introduction and putting Kitna on the chopping block. Who knows what their psyche is??

Feeley- Garcia has had a brutal last 3 of 4 years and I just don't see Philly changing that. I like the arm strength advantage here.

Wallace- Hasslebeck will have lingering knee symptoms?

Boller- No chance of playing as long as McNair gets hit little.

I was actually impressed with how Garcia handled being down 21-0 after only 1 quarter. He didn't attempt to do too much and they battled back to be within 10 points. If anything Philly's defense looked horrid. I mean how many blown tackles is one team going to give up. They made Addai look like Jesus with cleats. Anyway, I think Garcia did more than enough to keep the starting job. Not many QB's could have done better considering Indy went up so quickly.
