Phillys DST weak against run now? (1 Viewer)

It seemed that Jax had the times of their lives running against Phi. (proud FTaylor starter), but was it because of Jax O-Line being that good..??? or can we now say that with the injuries you should start your RBs with firm belief against Phi.?

The Eagles have had problems the last three weeks with teams that utilize an effective RB committee. I think the defensive line was built for speed and penetration, but is simply not stout enough to shut down a team that is committed to running the ball.

For several years now, the Eagles have been content to allow opponents to run the ball plenty between the 20s, knowing that the red zone defense would ultimately get the job done. But the linebacking corps has played mediocre this year, exposing the lack of size upfront. And the secondary has been banged up, preventing them from offering much run support. Add it all up and it means that Eagles' D is not the reliable unit it has been in years past. Teams with dynamic running attacks will continue to exploit the Birds' weaknesses.

The Jags o-line manhandled that defense and opened up very nice lanes for both RBs on Jacksonville. There was no gap maintenance going on at all. I think that was more indicitive of strength on the part of Jacksonville rather than any glaring weakness on Philly. Philly has been fairly good on covering the run this season so I would want to see another matchup before I downgraded them. Fred and MJD were both being hit, they were just running very hard and getting up some momentum quickly with the holes at the line (didn't need to dance to hit them, they just burst through).
