Photographer Takes Picture of Man in Costume (1 Viewer)

I don't get what a picture of Quark has to do with anything.
The original title was "Scientists Take Picture of Quark" leading a potential reader to believe that scientists have taken a photo of one of the most elementary particles of matter. Upon clicking and viewing the picture, the reader realizes he has been fooled and the picture is actually that of the famed Star Trek character named Quark, hence the "punchline" of the joke.

For some reason, the original title of the thread was deemed inappropriate enough to be changed, ruining the joke and leading to confusion amongst the masses.

Oh I get it. I'm not laughing but I get it.

It loses something after needing to be explained, I know.

Not funny then, not funny now. So at least you are consistent.

I actually think the OP is at least somewhat funny now. Sort of along the lines of the literal joke thread.

I changed the original thread title because I always try to change thread titles designed to get people to click on threads without knowing what's in them. It's an extension of Shick!'s vendetta against ellipses.

That was Shick! for you. He was always arguing about natural phenomena, which the ancients used to think presaged doom and disaster.
