Pick 2 RB for Week1: Barkley, Mostert, Davis (1 Viewer)

So obviously I drafted Barkley in the 2nd round for the long haul and he maybe not a great start in week 1 (they may limit him first game back, they are playing a tough defense, and they have a game 4 days later on TNF).

I planned on starting Barkley and Mostert (best matchup) but am willing to listen to thoughts on best 2 of these 3?

League is 12 team PPR.

I will help as well, leave a link.

Yea, I might sit Barkley for week 1. Tough choice as he might obviously go off despite anything you said as downsides, BUT I agree with your assessment in your 1st line and would wait and see 1st.

Davis is going to be the workhorse it seems and Mostert - as you said - has a great matchup.

(You'll probably have Barkley back in by week 2 though)

I'd sit Mike Davis personally. Its totally possible(likely even) that Barkley doesn't see his usual 85% of RB touches this week, but its not like he's going to be an afterthought. I just don't see anything great about Davis top bench Barkley's upside for him. Davis is a good candidate for like 70 yards and maybe a TD.

I'm not opposed to sitting Barkley(I'm doing it in the one league I have him in, for Mostert actually) but not for somebody like Davis.

Are you expected to win based on your opponents lineup?  If you need upside (need everything to go right to win) go with Barkley and Mostert.  If you need safe (should win if your guys hit their floors) go Mostert and Davis.

That’s a good point.

We use CBS which “predicts/previews” each game. Out of 6 games my point spread is middle of the road (9pts) where 2 or 3 games are predicted to be closer and 2 or 3 are predicted to be blowouts.

So I am the favorite in the matchup but not a huge favorite and it isn’t a coin flip either.

Our league has very volatile scoring week to week due to bonus pts for long TDS and our TE scoring. So while average is 150 pts, a bad week maybe 110 and a good week is about 200.

My opponent and I are both predicted around 150 with me and 8 pt favorite.

So not as easy as “I’m the underdog and need Barkley’s upside” or “I’m a huge favorite and can take the safe bet”. I am in between those two.
