Pick 3 HOFers from this upcoming draft class (1 Viewer)

Rounders

Footballguy
I got into a discussion with a friend last night and he asked me to pick 3 HOFers out of this upcoming draft class.

My three: 1) Calvin Johnson 2) Adrian Peterson 3) Leon Hall

His three: 1) Jamarcus Russell 2) Brady Quinn 3) Calvin Johnson

I was really surprised by his 3, but it got me thinking that this would be a good topic to throw out to my fellow FBGs. Have at it.

Calvin Johnson, Marshall Lynch, and a late rounder no one's heard of

I have never considered the HOF to be that big of a deal. I know it is a popular topic around here but there are elite players that do not make the HOF.

It is hard to aswer this question without knowing how many players on average from each draft class end up making it to the HOF?

It seems to me that players get in every year who's careers have been long over by 10 years or more. So really I am not sure how many ultimatly get inducted on average from each draft class.

I think I read somehwere that the average number of HOF'ers from each draft class is like 5 or 6...

Impossible to tell, but I'll throw a few in for the hell of it...

Poplular choice: Adrian Peterson. I want to say CJ, because he is the greatest talent in the draft IMO. But, when you see a guy like Art Monk not getting in the HOF, you have to wonder exactly how many of these current WR's will get in.

Logical choice: Joe Thomas. Why not. He's certainly athletic enough. He'd of course have to stay healthy, and play for at least 10-15 years, but you never know.

Sleeper: Amobi Okoye. He has an automatic advantage over the entire league because of his age. He could have a very long career, which really goes a long way towards getting in. If his stats are there, watch out.

In the modern era, more offensive linemen have gotten in than any other position (32), so I'll take Thomas for one. Defensive linemen, quarterback, and running backs all get in with about the same likelihood next, so I'll take the flashiest one out of that group, Adrian Peterson. For my third pick, I'll take whomever A.J. Smith drafts because everything he has done lately in April has turned to gold.

Why is this a sleeper? He's the best O-lineman to come out of college in years. He plays a position that translates to the pro game with fewer busts than just about any other position, and LT's are represented nicely in the hall. I think he is your safest pick.

Fixed. I meant to have 2 and 3 switched. Thanks

I dont think Calvin will get there just because it seems almost impossible for wrs to get there unless they are incredibly popular IMO. But my three would be:

Adrian Peterson(if his body holds up He has as good of a shot as players already in the league)

Laron Landry- guys has everything you need to be a superstar at the next level and I dont see any holes in his game at all.

Gaines Adams- I think if he has a chance to play his whole Career out then he should be there.

Honorable Mentions- Calvin Johnson and since there seems to always be a late round guy make it I'll throw in Justin Durant LB Hampton should be taking in rounds 3-6 and should be steal in this draft.

Being forced to pick I would say that these 3 have the highest probability of being HOF:

Joe Thomas

Patrick Willis

Alan Branch

Good gracious... NONE of them.Talk to me in three years when we can see a body of work, and when you can spell draft properly.
Hey, easy there. It's just a prediction topic for fun, OF COURSE there's not going to be any good evidence behind any of the opinions. Also, I hope you didn't seriously mean that you don't think any of them will be HOf'ers...that would be a record setting, incredibly awful draft class if it happened.

I'll never understand why normally reasonable people sometimes feel the need to pop off like this.People can't speculate, Grid?

I think Calvin Johnson, with his character and work ethic, is a very safe bet (barring injuries)

I also like Joe Thomas as he should be a rock for years

And in what I think will be one of the best WR drafts in over a decade, Sidney Rice is my 3rd choice. His work ethic, routes and hands are his known forte's, but he still has burner speed and strength to go up for jump balls. In any other draft besides the one Calvin Johnson is in, everyone would be talking about this guy.

He is way under the radar IMO with the "flash" of the bowl games and combines still in the air. I love when great players come into the NFL with that background ~ rated behind another great player. IMO Its a little extra huinger.
