All four WRs should be available in the 4th round and are ranked close to each other.

All are their team's #1 WR but all have their issues.

Chad Ochocinco- talented head case who could have a huge 100yd two td game followed by a stinker.

Roy Williams - talented WR who didn't click with his WR last year. Will he finally be the #1 he's able to be?

Braylon Edwards- Will the real Edwards please stand up? Is the 2007 version or 2008 ? I'm thinking

somewhere inbetween.

Houshmandzadeh- Not flashy. May be the safest pick of the four but WRs on a new team scare me.

If fantasy football coaches opt for RBs & QBs in the first three rounds they would have to be looking

at one of these receivers. Which one will break out and become a stud ?

I voted for TJ. I think he is the safest pick even though he is going to a new team. I like that he will have Hasselbeck throwing him the ball and Hass has made WR's like Darrell Jackson good fantasy WR's. I also think Carlson, Branch, and Burleson will draw enough attention away from D's to give TJ space. I also like that he will be playing the likes of St Louis, SF, and Arizona D twice per year instead of Baltimore and Pitt. Housh's numbers were also bad due to Palmer's injury so I don't take much stock in that being a trend for this year.

I also think he's been working with Hass in the offseason and really has a chip on his shoulder to show that he is deserving of his contract and of being a No. 1 WR. Not that it means much, but I don't get the sense he is going to be satisfied with his new contract and not bust his tail this season.

Edwards -- I don't like the QB situation, the bad weather later in the year, and he plays a tougher schedule than Housh.

Roy Williams -- Never been a big fan since he was in Detroit. Hasn't really shown me he can put up an entire solid season as Housh has numerous times.

Chad Johnson -- Don't think he and Palmer are on the same page. I like Housh's consistency more. I don't feel like dealing with his antics this year (i.e. he got suspended last year by Marvin Lewis for a game so in addition to possible injuries, you have to worry about the other baggage he brings). I also just think his better days are behind him. He also plays a tougher schedule than Housh (Balt, Pitt, etc).

Ocho - he hasn't lost any ability or talent and in fact will be in great condition after having the year off in 08. He won't have the no point games this year. Why? Because TJ is gone and the other receivers while being good enough to allow Chad to get open can't be relied upon like he can. With unproven rookies and 2nd yr guys on the field Chad will expect and ask for the ball. He should easily eclipse 1,000 yards this yr and have 6 - 8 TD's with upside.

I think the best answer is missing - TO is available in the middle of these guys. A little more risk - but even his downside is likely better all but TJ's.

Agreed. Chad is easily more valuable than a guy like Bowe, whose ADP is at least a round earlier. For a WR changing teams, I have little interest unless he's an elite talent (Moss, TO until now) or will have an elite QB. TJ isn't and wont... he has better value in PPR but I don't see a big play guy anywhere on his team. His yards and probably TDs will be lower than Chad's.

I'm surprised that Roy Williams isn't getting much love.

Other than injury, how can he not get 1100 yds and 6-8 TDs as a floor ?

Granted, he had an injury-shortened year and then changed teams, but Roy's catches, yards, yards per and TDs continue to fall.

He's now the second option (behind Witten) on a team that will run a lot. His schedule isn't great. Outside of the tough NFC East defenses the Cowboys play, Roy will probably face some top DB talent even among the weaker Ds on the schedule (Bailey, Harris, Asomgua or whatever, Cromartie).

What exactly about Roy should make me confident he'll be a good WR2 in 2009? All I see is "opportunity" with the departure of TO, but that makes Roy what I call a "default" pick, i.e. the thinking becomes that he has to put up FF points just because of his situation. He isn't a good enough player to inspire that faith - and it's looking like he never was, for various reasons.

This is going to be like when Reggie Brown was touted as a WR2. A disaster for his owners.

If one of Dallas's young WRs emerges even as a WR3 they will offer much more value.

It's certainly possible, but saying those numbers are his floor doesn't make sense when you look at his career numbers.

I think people who put TJ over CJ are nuts. Yeah TJ is more consistent- and that's worth something in FF- but TJs best FF year is like 10 pts below CJs AVERAGE year with Palmer at the helm. Not knowing how Palmer and CJ come back from injury gives some pause, and not knowing how TJ will mesh on a new teams WITHOUT a pro bowl receiver across from him also gives me pause. TJs average year is going to be like 1.5 -2 pts a week lower than CJs. Is consistency worth that much to you?

:banned: and i think you're being kind to TJ with those numbers. I'd be surprised if he was within 2 points of Chad this year.

You forgot to add: "Stay away from all of them".

I am sure that in whatever round I am drafting and all 4 of these players are still on the board, I will still find someone better and with far less questions attached.

Edwards. I think his stats are closer to '07 than '08. The Browns will be behind nearly every game. I am thinking that Quinn is closer to average than hideous this year as well.

Edited to add I am taking V. Jackson ahead of these guys in mocks.

Scoring rules would make a HUGE difference on the choice.....

Lineups and league rules for playoffs a much smaller consideration (ie OchoStinko who might have some giant games followed by single digit production is a factor depending on how much total points are involved)

In most leagues I go Ocho-Braylon-Housh----------never draft williams

In leagues where consistency counts a lot (ie leagues with cut lines)

Housh-Ocho-Braylon

In leagues that you need a shot at a studddd with that pick to have a chance

Braylon-- Ocho -- Housh.
