Pickup Doug Martin off waiver with #1 pick? (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

League Size: 12 / STD scoring League Position: 2 Drop: Jared Cook Add: Doug Martin

I have 3 TEs lol so don't particularly need Jared Cook (I have Olsen and Howard)

My question is more around the fact that Martin is on waivers (Waiver ends tonight). I am number 1 waiver and I feel that the person who dropped him did it so he can pick him up later if he plays.

My RBs are pretty slim, however, Fournette coming back helps. RBs: Fournette, Latavius Murray, Alex Collins, Ito Smith

Do you think Martin is worth losing Waiver #1 for?

Edit - I have 4 starters out for this week (Hopkins, Theilen, Murray, Collins) out this week, so the points could help if he plays. I am playing last place and still think I am in with a chance to win, although Olsen hasn't helped that haha.

Cheers

No on the #1 waiver pick and try and trade one of your TE's, TE's are scarce. You won't get a RB for one but maybe a WR.

I wouldn't have an issue with doing it but Martin is not all that exciting.  He is also dinged a bit so not sure if he really does a lot for you.  However, at this late stage in the season I don't think a difference maker will really come out of nowhere that will warrant saving the #1 priority for.  If you plan right all the quality backups should be rostered at some point so the injury situation causing a #1 priority worthy player to become available should be lowering.  You know your league best so if there isn't any injury potential #1 priority value players out there then I have no issue using it here.  I just wouldn't be excited about it.
