Picture to prove refs screwed up (1 Viewer)

Barely a minute into the second half, Chad Henne throws a deep ball to Ted Ginn Jr, who's hands are like that of a brick mason, and he bobbles the ball right into the hands of Darren Sharper. Sharper returns the ball back for an apparent touchdown. The play is challenged by the dolphins and the evidence showed that Ted Ginn Jr, trying to make up for his blunder, chases Sharper down from behind and punches the ball out at the 1yd line. The ball goes out of the side of the endzone and should have been ruled a touchback. The refs debacle the call once again and the saints are back in the game, 24-17.

Edit #3 http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._3866182_n.jpg

The latest issue of Sports Illustrated has a picture on pages 10 and 11 of Sharper clearly losing the ball with his back foot on the 2 yard line, clearly a full yard behind the pylon with the ball loose.

I not even going to read past the spot where you start complaining about the refs. There were plenty calls that should have been called pass interference in this game. If anything the Refs were the Dolphins friend. Now get over your loss and move on

But perhaps most importantly. if the Dolphins' had a single capable WR or TE on the roster they could still win that game in the 4th quarter.

First off, I would like to say that this was a good hard fought game by both teams. I just cannot understand how the refs had to interfere with the such a great game and effictively spot the saints 14 points. The plays that changed the game and the dolphins season for the worse....1) Dolphins lead 24-3 late in the 2nd quarter and are at or around the saints 40 yardline. Davone Bess catches the ball on a short pass and is hit and "fumbles" the ball. The saints get the ball and return it into dolphin territory. The play gets challenged and there is sufficient evidence to show that Bess's knee was clearly down before the ball came out. The refs botch the call and this leads to a touchdown right before the half. The dolphins would have had a chance to attempt a field goal if the refs get this call right. Also, it should be noted that Tony Sparano outsmarts himself during this comedy of errors by attempting to freeze the kicker on a chipshot, 21yd fg, with 5 seconds left. Brees talks coach Sean Peyton into going for it and calls his own number for the Touchdown. This gives the saints some momentum going into the half and are down 24-10. A potential 27-3 game turns into a 24-10 game.2) Barely a minute into the second half, Chad Henne throws a deep ball to Ted Ginn Jr, who's hands are like that of a brick mason, and he bobbles the ball right into the hands of Darren Sharper. It's ashame to watch the players/fighters put their blood, sweat, and tears into a game/fight and to then have the "officials" steal the victory from the participants, is unconscionable to say the least. After being violated in consecutive days, I can truly say that i have ZERO faith in the people who are suppose to protect the integrity of their respective sports.
 Miami got whooped in the second half. Plain and simple. As far as your complaints go...1) That makes up for Bess' catch-that-really-wasnt-a-catch-cause-the-challenge-machine-wasnt-working.2) There's a very good chance we both watched the same game. Don't know how you could see the ball going out at the 1yd line. Again, it just comes down to Miami getting whooped in the second half.

All I know is that Miami tried to pass, with the lead, in the 4th quarter, and went 3-and-out a couple times. That wasted about 30 seconds of game time when rushing it could have probably killed the entire 4th quarter. They have an amazing running game and excel at ball-control football... Why the F would you try to pass in the 4th quarter with a lead???

My thoughts are I was 5-0 on my 8 team parlay for day and had Miami- until they blew a huge lead and still couldn't cover +7.5. F me.

These calls were never under review and can't be reviewed either way. It was a horrendously offciated game when the officials are able to give the opposing team 14 points. I have no idea how you could possibly make the statement "the refs were the dolphins friends."

The ball did not go out at the 1yd line, it was punched out at the 1yd line and when out of the side of the endzone. It should have been ruled a touchback.

Badly coaching at the end of the half. And in the fourth with the lead.

Other than that, the better team won.

Bad calls went both ways. Miami blew a 21-point lead. Get on with it. They're a pretender while the Saints are a contender. Simple as that.

I'm not trying to defend the coaches of the dolphins in this game. I'm just pointing out 2 specific plays that were botched by the officials that drastically changed the outcome of this game.Tony Sparano and Company certaintly played a part in the final result, as well as Tedd Ginn Jr. and Gibril Wilson. Ted Ginn Jr. and Gibril Wilson played a major part in the Colts loss and now this loss.

Bad calls went both ways.
Meh, there's a big difference between a broken machine on an 8 yard pass on a drive that resulted in 0 points anyway and 14 points being directly placed onto the scoreboard on what otherwise would have been turnovers. At the end of the first half Colston got tackled at the 1 with 5 seconds left and the Saints having no timeouts. The half should have been over, but the refs ruled it a touchdown. The challenge got it right (down at the 1), but allowed the Saints to run another play instead of what should have been at the end of the half. That's 7 points that should have been zero. Then there was of course, the Sharper fumble which should have been a touchback. Again, 7 points that should have been zero. The Dolphins did PLENTY to lose this game on their own. In particular, it would be nice if they had someone on their team that could, you know, catch the ball. That said, one does have to wonder how differently that 4th quarter would have gone if the Saints started it with 14 fewer points.
They're a pretender while the Saints are a contender. Simple as that.
There's really no need for this, other than someone clearly being defensive and trying to be a jerk about it. The Fins have a long road ahead of them, but after a shakey start with Pennington they're 2-2 in their last four with the 2 losses being last second affairs against the only two undefeated teams in the league. If they can play with the Saints and Colts, they can play with anyone. And with 2 games to go against the Patriots it's not to the point where they have to start relying on other teams to help them out yet.

It doesn't change the fact that an armed robbery took place today in Miami. We should have won the game regardless of the officials, but to spot the best team currently in the NFL 14pts, is ridiculous. With a win today, I don't think many people would be saying the dolphins are pretenders. It doesn't matter now but to try and downplay the effect that those 2 plays had on the final outcome is unbelievable. People who gambled on this game definitely are feeling the pain right now, just like the fans of the team who were violated by the heist that took place.

Yup that Sharper TD was an absolutely horrible call, should have been a touchback. That said, the dolphins final drive was a chokefest of epic proportions. Ginn, Camarillo, Grove, Ricky Williams and Fasano all royally screwed up pretty much in a row.

My God! Since when was it trendy for 12-year-old girls to come on here and cry about all these "bad calls?" Geez. Colston's play at the end of the half shoulda been a TD. He fumbled before he was down and then recovered in the endzone. Dullfins couldn't stop the ensuing play.

Conclusion: Play some defense.

:lmao: I was in disbelief that in those last series they didn't run it done their throats, like they did in the final drive against the Jets. Miami is not going to win many games if Henne has to throw 36 times. Also, it is time for Ginn to go. I have posted on this site many times about how bad Ginn is and a lot of so-called Sharks come to his defense. His is not a NFL Wide Receiver.

Just giving my thoughts on 2 plays that changed the game. No one is crying here. I would call it venting my frustration, but if you want to call it crying, go right ahead. It's your right to defend the saints but I think it's pretty funny that no saints fans have admitted that the officials got those plays wrong. It was blatantly obvious to everyone that I watched the game with, yet most people on here seem to think it was no big deal. It's not going to change anything if you tell the truth, which is, the refs blew the game. Certainly the dolphins shot themselves in the foot the entire 4th quarter, but with a much bigger lead, who is to say that they don't run the clock out the entire 4th quarter? Either way, it was a good game, but to say "play some defense" is absurd. The saints were outplayed the first 3 quarters and the refs gave them 2 mulligans. This kept them in the game and also gave them the hope and momentum needed to win the game.

No sane non-Saints fan would ever claim this. He was so clearly down at the 1 yard line before the ball came out it's not even arguable.EDIT: Wait, there are some non-Saints fans who would claim it was a fumble and touchdown. Marques Colston fantasy owners. That should cover just about everyone that would possibly try to make that unbelievable stretch.

You can't fumble after you're down.Conclusion: You're a homer.

The playcalling was questionable to say the least but with 14 points not gifted to the saints by the officials, I would guarantee you that Henne wouldn't have been chucking the ball in the 4th quarter. Ronnie and Ricky would have been running the ball the rest of the game.Ted Ginn Jr. shows signs of being good but he has #### the bed too many times and i have zero faith in him now. I feel bad for Henne when his 1 receiver is Tedd Ginn Jr. Henne played pretty damn good considering how big of a game this was, as well as it being only his 3rd start, but it was sad to see so many drops after he made some really great throws.

Keep riding the band wagon bro, I'm sure you were on board when your current team was known as the AINTS.

Quite obviously the video evidence didn't show what you think it showed.

I think Vontae Davis is going to be a good player, but Nicks would have been a nice addition for the Fins.
Nicks would have been a great choice but my brother just told me Will Allen might be out for the year. If this is the case, then Vontae will be starting opposite Sean Smith. Hopefully the dolphins have 2 young studs in the making.

So what exactly are you suggesting here? That you know the rules better than the refs on the field?

That you had better replay angles than the ones the officials had?

That the officials saw exactly what you saw but just decided, aw f it let's leave the play as called anyway?

Or perhaps you've got a fun conspiracy theory to share?

A far more likely explanation is that what you consider conclusive video evidence to overturn, isn't.

Week 7 Waiver Wire Additions: NOT Chad Henne
He actually played a pretty good game. It's not his fault the dolphins have a bunch of former brick masons out there attempting to catch balls. I've yet to see a receiver with worse hands than Ted Ginn Jr. By the way, thank Nick Saban for your current qb. He should be a dolphin but that clown thought Culpepper was the better qb. I knew he made a mistake bc I watched nearly every game of Brees's at Purdue. It was only a matter of time before he became great. I just hope he can pick up his play on the road because he has not been very good thus far in his career. You Saints fans better pray for homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.

A potential 27-3 game turns into a 24-10 game.

2) Barely a minute into the second half, Chad Henne throws a deep ball to Ted Ginn Jr, who's hands are like that of a brick mason, and he bobbles the ball right into the hands of Darren Sharper.

After being witness to a robbery that took place in last nights main event of the UFC, and now being thrown into another stick-up of epic proportions today in Miami, I feel violated by the officials of both sports.
Quite obviously the video evidence didn't show what you think it showed.
It was clear to everyone that I watched the game and was stunned at how the officials got them BOTH wrong. And the people i watched the game with were eagles fans and not dolphins fans....Just sayin.

I have 2 eyes and know what i saw. None of my friends are blind so they saw what i saw. Officials make mistakes and are not infallible like you are suggesting. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how the play should go when there is instant replay. Along with the instant replay, the commentators were freeze framing these plays from multiple angles. The evidence that was gathered by me, along with the multiple other people that I watched the game with, came to the same conclusion. I don't know though....I guess we all should get our eyes checked out. Oh and I guess we should bow down to the "opinions" of the officials.

The officials watched the replays of both the plays in question and got them wrong. It's as simple as that.

Aintcha got like a Social Studies test manana? Give it up, man.
You sure are adding a whole lot of interesting facts to this discussion.

First off, I would like to say that this was a good hard fought game by both teams. I just cannot understand how the refs had to interfere with the such a great game and effictively spot the saints 14 points.

The plays that changed the game and the dolphins season for the worse....

1) Dolphins lead 24-3 late in the 2nd quarter and are at or around the saints 40 yardline. The officials were also freeze framing these plays from multiple angles. Obviously your definition of "conclusive video evidence" differs from the one the NFL uses.

Yeah, the Saints only scored 48 in Philly and 46 in Miami. Clearly not capable of winning on the road.

"Conclusive video evidence" seems to differ from official to official. Some refs prefer to avoid the reality of the play and "hide" behind the original call on the field. The evidence that was presented by the replays was enough to reverse the call. The ref chose to "hide" behind their original rulings.

By the way, what was your opinions on the 2 plays that were in question?

Never did i say that the "saints aren't capable of winning on the road," I simply stated that Brees has been much better in the dome, as opposed to on the road.

I dont buy it. Brees played most his games out doors when he was a Charger., The conditions are usually better in doors and the Wr's have quicker footing but I think Brees looked just fine out doors. The Miami defense was what gave him fits in the first half, not the setting. He played pretty good out doors in Philly as well.
