Pierre owners (1 Viewer)

Other injury notes: CB Malcolm Jenkins (ankle), CB Leigh Torrence (hamstring) and WR Ron Harper (ankle) did not practice. RB Pierre Thomas (ankle) practiced on a limited basis. RB Mike Bell (knee), LT Jermon Bushrod (knee) and LS Jason Kyle (ankle/knee) fully practiced.

Not a happy camper here...anyone who finds more info, pass it along
Bushisdaman = Tonya Harding
You guys crack me up. But this proves what I am talking about in the other thread. Too many injuries will certainly make Payton cautious with the carries. I guess the bets off before we ever even made it since PT is already dinged.

Starting to wonder if PT/MB are worth the headache of owning.

Bringing back memories of the Tatum-Mike Bell days.

Thomas was limited in practice again today.
Being limited during the week won't affect him this weekend, ask Welker. PT will be fine. They are just being cautious and don't want to push him too hard. Nothing to see folks, move along.
Maybe. But this situation has a few flags:1) Thomas is coming off a bye week and has been limited Wed & Thur. That's not a good sign.2) Mike Bell is healthy and played well as starter the first two weeks. I assume Bell is getting 1st team reps while PT is watching.

Pierre seems stoked on his twitter page. He had the same "good feeling posts" in his last two games that he went off on, so I am not worried at all about Sunday. Things sound like a go to me and I am plugging him in with confidence. http://twitter.com/Pierre_Thomas

The Pats didn't have a decent alternative to Welker, the Saints do. I agree that PT will probably be fine but Thomas seems to get dinged quite a bit.

Let's hope.

Pierre also had the same "good feeling posts" mid-week during those first couple weeks of the season where he "felt great" but was eventually inactive on Sundays. He seems like an eternal optimist.

Sounds a lot like Thomas' tweets before weeks 1 and 2:
# ...just a few stitches which will not keep me from playing.6:40 PM Sep 9th from web
# I am peparing for the Lions on Sunday and waiting for the thumbs up from the Saints. Who Dat ready to ROCK THE DOME!!6:40 PM Sep 9th from web
# How's my tweet squad doin? I've been working hard preparing for week 2. I'm full go Sunday baby! Lets get it!7:48 PM Sep 16th from web
# BIG thanks to all my fans, I appreciate the love ya'll have given me throughout this recovery. I'm ready to get after it!2:54 PM Sep 17th from TweetDeck
We know how that turned out.

really?has he been limited in weeks past and carried a full load? i don't have the time to look this up right now, but iirc payton has been pretty strict with his rbs workload and their ability to practice (especially on friday).anyone else back this up?

Glad it's at least a 1:00 game, although that could muddy the waters even further i suppose
Giants + PT injury = Too riskyI am just going to start Rice and DeAngelo. Minn. really isn't formidable vs. the run like the were in the past and TB is terrible.I have PT handcuffed with Bell but I am getting tired of trying to corner the NO backfield with two roster spots that are in constant turmoil. I had enough of that last year and it's a major pain. I know I said this above but that's how fatiguing I am finding this to be.

The Minnesota defense has allowed an average of 96 rushing yards per game with ZERO rushing TD's this year. I would not expect to much from Rice, especially with the Vikes at home. Under 100 total yards with no TD's for Rice this week, the under 100 includes receiving yards. Good luck

Good points but who knows with Pierre right now. I can change the lineup back to PT and DeAng. if I see that PT practices fully tomorrow. But otherwise I think I'll take Rice or some PT/Bell combo vs. NYG. And some glimmer of hppe for Rice from Rotoworld's Week 6 Rankings:"The famed Williams Wall remains solid, but the Vikings are giving up 3.8 yards per carry and 124 yards from scrimmage to opposing running backs each week, numbers that don't scare you. If the Vikings ever played from behind, the total yardage could soar. Don't be afraid of starting Ray Rice if Steven Jackson was able to carve out 109 yards against them."

anybody got insight into Payton's history with practice and playing time?

Rice is still good for 5 receptions = start him no matter what in PPR.

He will need to practice in some capacity so being limited is not the same as missing practice. To what degree is he limited and how will it affect his share of the RBBC is the million dollar question.

This practice report says it was his ankle. I thought he had a hamstring issue. Is this a mistake, or is he dealing with multiple issues?

he tends to be very serious about easing players back into the game, i think. think to earlier this year with pierre coming off injury but stating he would be ready. payton didn't play him but a few plays - ST duty, iirec - despite it being a blowout. payton is cautious. the next week pierre didn't play until the second half.if pierre practices today and looks effective then he will get carries. i would expect payton to err on the side of caution and lean on bell, especially with how good he's been this year.

Whew! (Wipes forehead.) Thank goodness I went with Ray Rice over Pierre! I'd have 23 points less in a tight game.

That's good to hear. Make sure you let us know how you make out this weekend... :football:
