Pierre Thomas going forward (1 Viewer)

Thoughts? This is about the time he started going crazy last year.

I'm probably sitting him against the Patriots next MN but that just means he'll go off.

In the last five games of the year, he goes against 4 defenses ranked 23rd or lower against the run. As great as that sounds, i feel like it all winds up like yesterday now. He'll throw in a TD or two the rest of the way, because he'll break one from the 25, but I don't think you can count on him as a weekly starter now.

Hes a decent RB2. Nothings changed IMO.

He is without a doubt the most frustrating player on my roster. I thought he would go off yesterday. Not only did he get 100 yards but Bell got the goalline work. I'm going to bench him next week for Snelling (so long as TUrner is out) but you gotta like the Saints schedule moving forward. It's just tough to guess what Sean Payton is going to do from game to game.

I see Thomas getting his yards every week, but Bell seems to have a defined role as well. With Bush injured there is enough for two. When Bush comes back it gets a little dicey.

I think all of us believe PT is a better quality RB than Bell.

However, yesterday was a typical example of what we can expect going forward.

You just can't trust week to week who's getting the bulk of the carries, better ypc and scoring opportunities.

This becomes fustrating for those of us that drafted him late in the 3rd round(ten team).

Is he a clear cut RB#2 going forward? With Bush in the mix in a few weeks, who knows?

i traded for Pierre Thomas in 2 leagues before the deadline, right after Bush exploded vs. the Rams. I think Pierre is the real deal and can carry teams to fantasy championships yet again.

With 25 carries a game Thomas could carry your team, I don`t see that happening. With Bush digned Peyton will want to have both Bell and Thomas for the whole season.

he averaged 15 carries the last 6 weeks of the season last year, and had 9 TDs over that span to take teams to championship. He can do it again. 15 att. for Pierre, 7-8 for Bell, 3-4 for Bush -- seems realistic to me.

For the sake of my sanity, I'm looking at Pierre as a low end RB2 - someone on par with a Jamal Lewis or Knowshon Moreno type... BUT, who also has the upside of potentially putting up RB1 numbers on any given week.

I still believe. 11 carries for 92 - still showing his talent. In blowouts Bell will be more of a factor. In high scoring tight games where you can't just run the whole second half, it'll be Pierre. Still way more versatile. My bet is Pierre will be used a ton more next Monday night vs. the Pats.

He's my RB2/Flex all the way through the playoffs! There are one or two weeks where I might gamble with Crabtree at Flex instead of PT.

CJ/Mendenhall are my RB1/RB2 barring injury.

It's all about expectations. I expect 8-10 points/week out of him and nothing more. 3 out of the last 4 weeks he's met my expectations.

From a dynasty perspective he is a HOLD. He may be traded or maybe not.

Either way I like him for what he is (RB2/Flex) getting me 8-10 points a week in a standard scoring format.

I've been a Grant and PT owner for the last two years. It's a lethal combo as I often pick wrong. I am in must win mode and I really wanted PT to be my RB2 but Grant is surpassing him for good in my non-ppr, Milestone, TD league. fwiw

that should almost be a no brainer now. one guy gets 90 percent of the carries; the other is getting 60.

I feel very badly for anyone who has Jamal Lewis as a RB2.

so, not to turn this into a WDIS thread, but you'd play him over Colston? How about Vincent Jackson? Boldin? MSW?

I see what you did there...

PT going forward. More of the same unless there is an injury. I expect a solid game from him this week against the Pats, I would just watch the matchups and if it looks like a team with a good pass defense or one that will keep up with the Saints on the score board.and if so PT is the play. Bush may be the spoiler but then again maybe not. Bell will take carries and becomes much more of a factor when its time to run the clock and ice the game. Any way you look at it though it is a frustrating RBBC (which I have predicted since preseason). I dont think you need to worry about New Orleans benching its starters because they are looking over their shoulder and trying to clinch home field advantage away from the Vikings.

Expectations are low RB2 with high RB1 upside. The goal line vulture this week was Meacham...there were no carries inside the 10 yard line until the end of the third quarter when Bell got his first TD.

I suspect that Thomas will be pretty involved this week if Bush is still out, and will be a strong RB2. If Bush plays, I'm still assuming PT will still get a majority of the RB touches, but who knows how it will really shake out.

I've been rotating these 2 in my main league as my RB2. I usually make the wrong pick as well. I have Bell too. Pierre's a phenomenal talent and Peyton's ablsolutely doing the right thing with the way he uses them, but unfortunately it makes them both almost useless for fantasy purposes unless you are desperate. Consider this, in PPR leagues, Pierre and Bell have COMBINED for 9 games of 10+ fantasy points. When you start either of these guys, you have about a 50% chance of getting a completely useless game. When they have a decent game, it's usually huge, so there's def. some value, but it's very frustrating.I will likely start Grant every week from here on out with utter disappointment. I hate Grant and will pine for what Pierre could've been.

That has been my feeling as well. Payton is getting the deeper guys like Bush, Meachem, and David Thomas involved in these games against lesser opponents to keep them ready to contribute later. The big dogs like Colston, Pierre, and Shockey should show up in the bigger games.
