Pierre Thomas limited practice again. Questionable (1 Viewer)

**** Friday Update - He was limited again Friday and is offically Questionable. Seems unlikely to play according to the beat writers*****

Jeff Duncan of Nola just tweeted that Pierre Thomas was limited in practice today. No update beyond that yet.

Jeremy Shockey was also limited after not practicing at all yesterday.

IMO, after practicing yesterday with a big brace on it is safe to say that Thomas still isn't 100% so I fully expect Bell to carry the load this week again. Of course, the matchup is a lot tougher as the Eagles defense looked excellent last week.

It will be an interesting game to watch. On the one hand you can't be over enthused about the Eagles offense with Kolb at the helm so an Eagles blowout doesn't look likely and as long as the Saints are close or ahead I'm sure they will mix quite a few runs in because the pass never comes easy vs. Philly. So even though it is a tough matchup for Bell I still think he should do ok.

Still rolling with Fred Jackson, Thomas may not be fully healthy for a week or two. Even at that point Bell and him may share the load.

PT remains on my bench for *gulp* Donald Brown. ( still waiting for Lynch to come back from suspension too ) When Lynch and PT come back, look the eff out. lol

Look the eff out for the one starting RB between the two?Newest Bell fan and owner of him in two leagues off the WW:banned:

I am interested in seeing how Bell fairs against a good Phily Def..

I remember against the Tex (10 for 100 and 1td) in preseason everyone was riding his jock strap until the next week he played the Raiders (3 for 15) and it died...

Why did it die? With only three carries he did pretty well. If it's just based on opportunity, if PT is not ready, he's still going to get the opportunity. Now week three it should be interesting. I think that's the week that PT makes sure he's on the field no matter what the docs or the coaches say.

That is all I wanted to highlight

in the same boat here. starting CJ3 and currently using sproles with Lynch/Thomas/White sitting on the bench. do you expect Lynch to immediately take the starting job over once he comes back?

According to Payton Bell is the #1 even if Pierre is healthy
Maybe for another week or two.
Not sure why you think you would have a better grasp on how the coach wants to use these backs than the coach does himself. Payton says Bell is ahead of Pierre and he wants to give Pierre some carries when he's healthy but not enough carries to interfere with how Bell runs and gets stronger as the game goes on. Bell just ran for more yards than ANY Saints RB has in the last six years. He's the #1 now.

The expers on this thread didn't believe Payton when he said the Saints would use a three headed attach this year, They didn't believe Brees when he said Bell was the MVP of training camp. Now they don't believe Payton when his statments indicate that Bell is the #1. They discount Bell's preformance last week because it was the Lions. They point out Bell was cut by the Broncos.Well last time I checked Payton was the coach and he knows more than the sharksBell ran for more yards and a higher ave than several great backs did vs the Lions last yearJohnny Unitas was cut.

Turner had 220 and 2 td's last year against the same Lion's team the 1st game....Bell is the #1 guy until PT is healthy...BOTTOM LINE

The Bell train will slow.

Pierre is a coach's pet and probably the most popular guy in the locker room. When he gets healthy the group will morph into a Moe/Onterrio/Mewelde thing.

Bush will knock the rust off soon and be back to 9-41/7-60-1 type stuff. He and Pierre won't leave much for Bell; so Sell him while his value his sky-high.

Yes, Turner had 220, bur ADP, MJD. Chris Johnson, Forte, Portis, DeAngelo Williams, Ryan Grant, Frank Gore, and Steve Slaton did run for 143Bell is the #1 until Sean Payton says otherwise....REAL BOTTOM LINE

What in the world makes you post garbage like this as fact?????

I've got those two arses rostered but I hope one of them gets to be named the RB1 so I can make adjustments to my roster instead of hoping that one or the other blows out his knee for it to be determined.

Coach's speak at it's best..... Bell will have a role to play but Pierre will regain the touches when healthy.... If we were to believe everything a coach says and then react accordingly I would of drafted M.Bradley instead of D.Bowe this year.... This is suppose to be the shark pool not the huge overreaction pool.

Just trying to contribute little facts I know. I used to be in the football business and have some neat contacts on several franchises.

I played H.S. football with Drew Brees. Won a state championship with him as our QB in 1996. I played defense, though. Tackle in a 3-4 Defense. Drew was a Senior and I was a Junior.Just thought I would add something about as worthless as what you have added.

Do you guys have ANY evidence that Pierre will supplant Bell? Everything that Payton and Pierre have said since the Lions game indicates that Pierre is behind Bell now and doesn't imply that will change once Pierre is healthy. Pierre may have once been a "coach's pet", but with the whole telling his kid to draft Bell thing and how "tremendous" he keeps saying Bell has been, it seems pretty clear that Bell is Payton's pet, if anyone is...

I really think this won't be clear for a few more weeks. If Thomas comes back healthy in a couple of weeks & Bell is just okay then I could see Bell pushed aside for Thomas.. But if Bell plays well the next few weeks it may not matter if Thomas is healthy. They will play Bell. There has been way to much speculation as to what will happen. I really don't think anybody will know for sure for 2 more weeks or so..

Ouch. I don't quite understand the venom here... "garbage" and "worthless"...... I just like to contribute if there's any little extra thing I can offer to the discussion. Are you a chest-pounding Mike Bell owner, or is it just your character?

Basically Aardvarks, until your so called inside information from these contacts of yours bares some truth, you are going to be mocked and ridiculed on this board. After countless other posters crying wolf with similar claims can you really blame them? So, make some predictions but leave out the supposed contacts with NFL teams till those predictions come to fruition. Until then you are just going to get ripped...

Ah, reading this thread is bringing back memories of the Priest Holmes/Larry Johnson threads from a few years ago. Everyone has an opinion based upon the player on their roster.

I have Bell and he is hands down the #1 back in NO. No question about it, write it in stone, put it on the board.

PT is a good guy. That's a fact. Heard him on Sirius radio multiple times. Also a very hard worker. I don't know if Aardvarks really has league insiders, but they are available for a small monthly fee on the radio. The hosts have a ridiculous network of contacts. It's up to Pierre to come back and show what he is capable. As a dynasty owner, I'd prefer that he doesn't rush back knowing that he will be relevant at some point this season. All we can do is wait & see when

PT is capable but always seemed to be nicked..last year he was banged up as well. This has RBBC written all over it. Peyton does not care who is the starter. Bell will see carries, Bush will see carries, and when Thomas is healthy he will see carries much like last year when Duece was in the mix.
