2nd of year of playing fantasy baseball...didn't really study my pitchers and it probably shows.

still learning, but i feel like i'm getting a lot better than last thanks to these forums.

question is, i need help on pitching. drafted david price, got jon smoltz on DL. waiting for these guys is hurting me a bit.

so with a limited bench and an open slot for another pitcher, i'm sacrificing k's, w's, and saves.

should i drop motte for a starting pitcher like ubaldo jiminez? or should i just wait it out. i was also thinking about dropping corpas/motte for streaming pitchers.

i could drop hitters, but not sure who. (justin upton?)

however, corpas has been good at lowering the era/whip. thanks for the advice.

There's no reason to sacrifice W's/K's/Sv's. You have some things to work with now and some ways to improve. (I'd go pick up Jimenez right now for your extra spot).

Joba, Johnson, Cueto and Wandy should all be solid contibutors for you.

It looks like this is a shallow league, so there will be quality pitchers on the wire, too.

You could also try to find a way to use a roster spot to rotate in waiver wire pitchers with good matchups. A mediocre pitcher going against SD or WAS can often give you a very nice start.

Another option would be a trade. You have 6 good OF's plus a high upside guy in Upton. Really, the only issue with your pitching staff is the lack of an ace. You could certainly use your OF depth to get a high quality starter. A stud, along with Joba, Johnson, Wandy, Cueto and Ubaldo would make for a competitive staff. Smoltz and/or Price could be a big help when they get here too.

I wouldn't give up on saves either. You have Wood and Motte, as well as a closer in Villanueva until Hoffman gets back. You're going to need to find some pieces off the wire as the season goes along, but you can certainly compete in saves.

Thanks for the answer! I would like to trade, but these is one of those leagues where trading is impossible unless you're willing to get ripped off.Unfortunately, my roster is full, so I'm not sure who to drop in exchange for Jimenez. Who do you think would be expendable? You can drop either a hitter or a pitcher.Or would you just stand pat?
