so my kids got a Kids vs Parents trivia game and one of the questions was

What Type of Pizza Crust Do Most Americans Prefer: Thick or Thin?

I disagreed with the answer...would like to see pole results to confirm

 
Can you clearly define thin and thick?

Like there is super thin, which typically gets crunchier, then there is thin (which most define as NY Style, and a lot of people consider that regular pizza), and what I consider thick, like Chicago style or deep dish.

A great NY style, thin with crisp bottom and soft top, firm enough to stand up to toppings without flopping or requiring the fold technique, is the right answer here.

Tough to find down here in TX.

 
The best pizza I've ever had was thin crust, but so was as the worst.

Thick crust tends to be more consistent.

Voted thin.

 
Thick crust usually comes along with quite a bit of grease, so voted thin. I'm a sucker for Papa Murphy's Chicago-style stuffed pizza though. :thumbup:

I would assume thick to mean Sicilian or Grandma-style.

Which is why a slice of plain and a slice of Sicilian is always the best combo.

 
Dislike thin crust pizza. Won't say hate as I can't hate any pizza.

By thin I mean crisp thin. NY style is tremendous of course.

 
Pizza should have a thin crust that is a little crisp but still has a nice chew feel. Pizza is mostly about the crust.

I eat thick crust pizza but never order it and don't love it. I like just about all pizza even that casserole stuff in Chicago but would order a Marion's pizza (Dayton, OH) every time over any I have ever had.

To me thin crust is usually specified and means super thin like a saltine cracker. I took thick to mean normal hand tossed

Deep Dish/Sicilian/Chicago style is usually called out as such and not referred to as "thick crust"

Thin = California style, very thin and crisp. Thick = deep dish/Chicago style. My preference is New York style, which I wouldn't ordinarily call thin or thick but if I absolutely had to call it one, I'd say thin. Hence my vote for thin. But I think our preferences are the same.
