coach Joe Gibbs said Monday afternoon that Hall had experienced fatigue in his quadriceps and that it became worse as the game wore on.

From what, sitting on the bench? It's not like he had to kickoff a bunch of times after the offense scored.

He's fought injuries for three years. His kickoffs rarely reach past the 5 yard line, and even though his FG% was good this year he just doesn't have any sort of look of confidence kicking. He looks like he punches the ball rather than taking a full leg swing. I have zero confidence in him to be successul attempting any FG beyond 40 yards.

it's about damn time. and those of you knocking the possible release of a kicker that's 9-11 this year, don't even try. Hall is an injury-prone kicker. How is that possible? All he does is kick and he gets injured doing so. He also has no distance in his kickoffs anymore (when he does them) and he has the same clutch rating as A-rod, in other words, none. Game tying kick against Minny in week 1? Not even close. I knew it wouldn't be. Big FG late against Seattle in the playoffs last year? Shanked. He's not clutch and even the kicks he makes are an adventure. This would all be tolerable if he was some low paid guy, but he's one of the highest paid kickers in the NFL. Good riddance (hopefully)

Redskins lost their first game because of his leg. Not sure if they would have won, but he didn't give them a chance.

A typical Redskin game ends with a last-minute drive down the field, stalling around the 30 as time winds down, allowing time for Hall to blow a field goal. They should've gotten rid of him in the offseason. Always injured, never reliable. He's the reason the Redskins had the fewest FG in the league last year.

The list of candidates getting a tryout appears to include Todd Peterson, Nick Novak, Tyler Jones, and Ola Kimrin. Some sources are also indicating there is a mystery fifth kicker on the list.

Mark Mosley or Chip Lohmiller? How about Ali Haji Shank or one of the Zendejas Brothers, since they all kicked in RFK for Gibbs at one time or another.
