What to make of it? I don't think Eli looked his way after the first quarter besides the one pass that he overthrew in the second half! I don't understand it. They at least tried to go deep to him a couple of times against Miami, but today and the San Fran game, it's as if he is not on the field.

I was screaming at the tv and wondering why they dont go to their best wr....my guess is they went with the hot hands...shockey. Dallas must have game planned well for him(plax)after the first game they played.

Detroit next week , if things dont improve thats when i`ll panic.

Wait a minute, let me pull out my violin.... ahhh here it is....

What do I make of it? Things tend to even out over the course of a season...

Strategy-wise, I think the Giants are becoming a run-first-team now that the defense is playing well. And I think defenses are keying on Burress.

Other factors:

1. Things even out over a year.

2. WRs are inconsistent.

3. Plax is hurt. It may not be improving and, as the season wears on, it is harder to "play through it".

4. This is Plax. There is a reason he was projected as a low-end WR1 to mid-to-high WR2 before the season started. He can lose focus, be lazy, etc.

He's no longer a "must start" for me. I'll let matchups dictate a little more of the decision.

Isn't this what Plax does every year? He's like the opposite of Lee Evans. He starts off hot and then gimps away the last part of the season.

Plaxico Burress-WR- Giants Nov. 12 - 3:04 pm et

Plaxico Burress says he tweaked his ankle in Sunday's loss to Dallas.

"It doesn't feel good right now, that's for sure," Plax answered when asked if the tweak was minor or major. Burress said the ankle feels the worst it has all year: "I don't really think it is going to get better." It seemed promising when he did some drills in practice Wednesday, but apparently that didn't help. Plax did say he doesn't plan on sitting out of any games.

Upgrade Jacobs and Shockey. As Burress' injury continues and the weather gets colder there will be more emphasis on ball control. The running and short passing game will be on display for the remainder of the year.

Eli Manning has thrown half of his TD passes in the first 6 games each of the past 2 years. The final 10 games of the season in 2005, 2006, plus the 3 games this year so far after game 6 (a total of 23 games), Eli has had a QB rating over 80 exactly 5 times.Just for comparison over the same time period, brother Peyton has 18 such games, and Donovan McNabb also has 5 (in only 10 games played). Until Eli can turn it around in the 2nd half of the season when the Giants play good defenses, I don't think Plax will be the guy we hope he can be. Injuries also don't help, and I am a Plax owner.
