Plaxico Burress - Game Time Decision (1 Viewer)

4 - Digit Shark

Footballguy
After saying earlier in the week he would play, Plax is now a game time decision. Do any NYG homers or anyone else have any additional info on if they think he'll be a go this Sunday?

Thanks

I have a similar situation in that all my other options play at 1 and based on current info I have Jacoby Jones in the lineup instead of gambling on Plax at 4.

May well backfire, but I hate to end up with a zero and I don't know how much Plax will play even if he suits up

I really hate this game time decision nonsense. Even if he does play, there is a good chance that he will take a big hit from the redskins hard hitting secondary and be back out of the game. It really sucks too, because I picked him up, thought he was going to have a great year, and he can't seem to keep himself healthy.

If he has been downgrade that is not a good sign. I would give Toomer a bump.

Toomer anyone ?

I'm not taking a chance...he's on my bench. I do have Braylon Edwards in his place (along with Roy Williams), so it's not a killer. I have a flex so my RB's are Parker/Bush/Benson. With a healthy Burress, I might have benched Benson and gone 3 WR. But with the game time decision situation, I'll start the other five and not be worried about him either sitting or coming out early.

Had him last year and he pulled the same stunt. Sometimes he wanted to play and other times he did not. Really frustrating. I ended up trading him because I didn't want to deal with the 2nd guessing of whether or not he would play. He was one of the guys I said no thanks to this year.

Check out the photos of the unis they're going to wear tomorrow and get back to us on that one.

No, there's not.95% of the time, when someone plays, a team isn't stupid enough to rush them out there when they're not ready and risk significant injury. Think about it...would you rather wait one more week as a team for a player, or watch him get hit and be out 8 weeks, or possibly ruin his career? If he's out there, he's not risking reinjury. The Giants aren't that stupid, and neither is any other team.

He's more likely to play than not. According to Mix(probably shouldn't have said anything as it's a common rule but he's inexperienced) Buress looked good in limited reps.

I would figure he and Mix share time

GMen are 0-2 and this is a divisional game. If they have ANY hope of salvaging this season they'll have to win this game, and he practiced (limited) on Friday. I'm confident he plays (IMO), but the ? is can he stay in the game and be effective?

I benched Plax, put in Curry in his place. I kinda like Curry this week so I'm not that bothered that I have to bench Plax. I have a feeling he'll play but as other people pointed out his game isn't until 4, I have to decide on someone else at 1 and I just don't want to deal with the headache. If I didn't have a third option as good as Curry I probably would've just left Plax in there and crossed my fingers...

I can't wait until we actually have NEWS of Plax instead of "I'm playing______ instead" posts. Barf.

FOXSports.com's John Czarnecki writes that Plaxico Burress (ankle) is likely to be sidelined for the Giants' Week 3 game.

Even if Burress plays, he's no lock to finish the game. Unless you are fresh out of decent alternatives, we'd consider sitting Burress against a resurgent Redskins secondary.

Is that the same FOX news that said Eli Manning wasn't going to play last week?

Not only is it the same FOX news, it was also Czarnecki that said Lorenzen was going to start last week. . .I'd wait for another source for Plaxico's game status.

According to Newsday, it's "safe to assume" that Plaxico Burress (ankle) will face the Redskins on Sunday afternoon.

This runs contrary to what FOXSports.com and the New York Daily News have been indicating. Newsday points out that Plax "may not hate missing practices, but he does hate missing games." His status remains uncertain.

I have burress in my starting lineup....

If they do decide to not start him im hoping they will give us 30 mins notice before gametime.

And i will be very limited as to who i can pick up and play at that point.. :banned:

Why not pick up Mix then? (Unless you simply have no one to drop or don't have a Skins WR)

With the conflicting reports and considering that the G-Men play a 4:00 game, I am not playing him, although I have solid options (Ron Brown, Norwood, Reg Brown, etc) I think I would start Plax over Jacoby Jones, or a fringe guy in that mold. Of course, hopefully, we will know more by game time, or even 1:00.

Can someone watch the yahoo fantasy live show and report back what they say on burress... it starts in 2 minutes.

Can't decide between Berrian and Plax...the Cowboys have been torched twice by WRs this year (Plax and Galloway)

I assume you mean Chambers, Dallas hasn't played TB this year. And Miami spread it around pretty well on Dallas. That said I would go with Berrian, Dallas is very vulnerable to the deep ball.

Ive got Calvin and Welker in the morning and Im sticking with Plax. I do have Curry in the afternoon in case something changes.

The only way he sits is if Coughlin sits him. No way Plax takes himself out.

I will probably sit him against Drew Carter. Even if he plays, who knows how long he stays in or how effective he will be. He's been a GTD player before and has most always played, but I cant chance it. Besides, I'm 0-2 so what do I have to lose!

Really? I thought Dallas played Miami last week, but Galloway must have flew up for the game and dressed for the Dolphins. :moneybag:

As a 'Skins fan I'm sort of hoping he plays because I'd like to see him matched up against Sean Taylor on some deep throws. :tfp:

Did you miss Roy Williams trying to cover him?I hope Taylor does match up with Plax all day, I could use another 3 td week.
