Plaxico Burress - Questionable - Late Game (1 Viewer)

just speculation, from Rotoworld:

New York Daily News beat writer Ralph Vacchiano hints that he doesn't expect Plaxico Burress (questionable, hamstring) to play in Week 12.

Vacchiano speculates that the Giants' five-hour team flight to Arizona won't help Burress' chances and writes that Plax "sounds like he wants to be very cautious" with the hamstring. New York has a healthy lead in the NFC East and can be competitive with Domenik Hixon starting at split end. Burress owners should only wait on him in a 4:15ET game if they have Hixon too.

And this from CBS. FWIW:

Plaxico Burress, WR NYGNews: Giants WR Plaxico Burress was limited at practice Friday because of an injury to his right hamstring and he will be a game-time decision on Sunday when the Giants play the Arizona Cardinals. Burress tweaked the hamstring in practice Wednesday and he did not work out Thursday. His hamstring was a little sore after practice Friday, but it did not bother him when he jogged. "Knowing me, as of right now, I will play, but like I said you have to be smart about it because it is a hamstring," Burress said after practice. "The weather is going to be cold out here for the rest of the season and hamstrings really don't normally do well in the cold weather. So like I said, I am just going to make the decision based on how I feel when we get out there and warm up on Sunday."Analysis: Burress has shown the ability to play with pain -- he played almost the entire season last year with an ankle injury that prevented him from practicing. Burress said a hamstring is a lot different from an ankle or knee injury. He said the last time he had a hamstring injury, he missed six games with the Steelers. However, he said that pull was worse. Burress has 35 catches for 454 yards and four touchdowns, but his receptions have declined steadily since catching 15 passes in the first two games. He has gotten double coverage in almost every game since and he has caught no more than three passes in the last five games. If he plays, consider him no better than a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR for the game, though the matchup is favorable for him as the Cardinals have allowed 19 receiving touchdowns on the season. If Burress doesn't play, then Domenik Hixon would be a possible replacement for him in the Giants' lineup and in Fantasy lineups.

John Clayton on ESPN just said Plax will probably play.

"Burress (hamstring) is likely to play Sunday against the Cardinals, ESPN's John Clayton reports.

Spin: Burress will still have to go through warm-ups and prove that he can move effectively, but that little test is expected to go smoothly. Also helping his cause is the warm Arizona weather; Burress is more worried about how his hamstring will hold up in the cold. He did miss practice Friday, but he's used to not practicing during the week, so that shouldn't hurt his production."RotoWire | Sun, November 23

Rotoworld Update

FOXSports' Jay Glazer reports that Brandon Jacobs will be inactive Sunday at Arizona. Plaxico Burress will start.

Glazer says Jacobs awoke with a sore knee Sunday and the Giants are holding him out for precautionary reasons. He will be replaced in the starting lineup by Derrick Ward with Ahmad Bradshaw likely seeing significant action off the bench. Ward is the better fantasy play in any format, but Bradshaw can be plugged in as a flex if you're desperate. Glazer and others reported earlier Sunday that Jacobs would be active, so this is pretty shocking. Jacobs was also listed as probable on the injury report, which means virtually certain to play.
