Plaxico Burress (1 Viewer)

Sitting at the 4/5 turn in my draft, I felt like I was taking a gamble with Burress since he is supposed to be an unfocused player. It still seems like he still gets bashed a lot, but I am amazed at how consistent he is from a fantasy prospective this year.

He played in 12 games this year. missed one and was pulled early in one due to back trouble

in 9 of the 11 full games he has scored 1 TD

In a head to head league, it's hard to expect more than that from an WR1, let alone WR2 that he's usually drafted as. He's only averaging 60 yards a game or so but is a clear redzone target. Seems like he's a guy that really slipped in the draft this year and might next year as well due to attitude issues that don't affect his fantasy stats.

Anyone think this will continue or improve next year? I think he'll fly under the radar again next year and I plan on targeting him. Fitzgerald/Boldin types are not producing like him but seem to be in a lot of top 10 lists and will probably be drafted far in front of him.

It's those very complaints that people have about him that make him a value. We'll see if his value sticks through the offseason rankings

The knock on Burress in the past was always inconsistency. He'd have a 140yd 2 TD game, then disappear for 2 games. His end of year stats would look good on paper, but he lost games for a lot of owners the weeks he had only 2 grabs for 40 yards.

Plax has been the most consistent WR in the league this year, the only guy close in that regard is D-Jax.

I'd rather have 1 TD every week than an occasional monster game mixed in with a few stinkers. Consistent production wins fantasy games.

Eli looks to him almost exclusively in the red zone. Shockey gets looks sometimes, mostly when the play breaks down, but otherwise, it's all Plax.
