Drew Rosenhaus[/thread]Can someone explain to me why? I am not getting it. They paid him huge at the beginning of the season. He single handedly dismantled the Giant's offense by shooting himself. The giants have said they want him back if he isn't in jail.
What gives?
He single-handedly killed the Giants chance to repeat, I think he is worth more than that.Just how much value does Plax think he's worth? Maybe a 4th rounder?
Not when you factor in the baggage. He single-handedly killed the Giants chance to repeat, I think he is worth more than that.Just how much value does Plax think he's worth? Maybe a 4th rounder?
That's like John Wayne Bobbit trading in his wife for aileen wuornos.Straight up for T.O. then?

From CBS sportsline.Burress seeking trade Updated 2/13/09 Burress, Plaxico WR NYG Strap Light News: WR Plaxico Burress seemingly wants to leave the New York Giants. Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for the troubled receiver, sent an e-mail to the NFL's teams earlier this week letting them know that Burress was one of his three clients who wants to be traded. The e-mail said that the agent had three "players DESIRING a trade." The other two players are Anquan Boldin of the NFC champion Arizona Cardinals and Chad Johnson of the Cincinnati Bengals. Burress' future has been in limbo since he shot himself in the right thigh at a New York City nightclub in late November. He was charged with felony gun possession and is due in court March 31. If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 3.5 years in prison. The 31-year-old also faces a possible suspension by the NFL for violating its personal conduct policy. The Giants, who signed Burress to a five-year, $35 million contract in September, have left the door open for Burress to return. Analysis: An unidentified source told the Star-Ledger that Rosenhaus did not have the Giants' permission to solicit trade inquiries, and that the Giants were furious when they learned about the e-mail. It sounds as if the Burress saga will continue in the offseason, and his status for this year remains in doubt. When healthy and with the Giants, Burress is a No. 1 Fantasy WR. But if he goes elsewhere via trade, his Fantasy value could change. To clarify, this appears to be Rosenhaus being Rosenhaus who is perhaps a bit POed that the Giants are trying to recoup some bonus money from Burress' contract. Despite that, I haven't read or heard anywhere that Burress has asked for a trade.Despite this past season, he is still very well liked by his teammates and is not a divisive presence in the lockerroom.
guess you havent seen his rap sheet thenIt's fair to factor in the baggage, but you also have to factor what Burress did last year while playing hurt. I guess you could call him aging since everybody is aging, but he's certainly not past his prime.
The guy had an exceedingly stupid incident with the gun, but it's not like he has a rap sheet a mile long.
That's just reiterating the story that Rosenhaus sent out an e-mail.Still nothing from Plaxico whereas Boldin and Chad Johnson have made their positions clear on wanting out of their current teams.Maybe Plaxico wants a trade maybe he doesn't but he hasn't said anything himself to indicate he wants out of NY.From CBS sportsline.Burress seeking trade Updated 2/13/09 Burress, Plaxico WR NYG Strap Light News: WR Plaxico Burress seemingly wants to leave the New York Giants. Could well be true although no Giants that I've heard, player coach or front office personnel, has done that. In fact, every quote I've heard from the team in regards Burress shooting himself and the Giants falling off at the end of the season has practically bent over backward to say that it the losses were team losses and many factors and players are to blame besides just Burress not being on the field.I don't doubt that, in Plaxico's mind, he thinks that the Giants threw him under the bus and made him the scapegoat for their season ending collapse. (even if it is true)

If I was to guess what this e-mail is about, it's not Burress saying he wants out of NY but it's Rosenhaus being proactive and trying to get a sense of the value of Burress in a trade and which teams might be interested so if Burress avoids jail, and if Burress avoids a lengthy league suspension and if the Giants do decide they don't want him around he can quickly get the Giants together with a potential trading partner.
That's a lot of ifs and it's just my guess/take on the situation but preparing for all eventualities is what makes Rosenhaus good at his job.
What has Burress SAID about leaving... what has Burress DONE about leaving... and what has Burress CONFIRMED about wanting to leave...
