In the last 15 years I have always drafted RB/RB with my first two picks in a standard start 1 QB league. Since I was in a start 2 QB league this year, I didn't take a Running Back until round 5. I am still trying to climb out of that.
I started out my draft this season with the 4th pick and went Brees/Graham. I then went Fitz/Welker in rounds 4 & 5. Rounds 6,7 & 8, I drafted SJAX, Bradshaw and Hillis. We all now know how that has worked out for me (not good). In my 10 team league no one will make a trade with anyone. So this requires working the Waiver Wire to try and come up with 3 starting RB's every week. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since we have 24 man rosters in our 10 team league, the available RB's are very slim. However, I have managed to assemble a very good team at all other positions (see below). So, the only way I can hope to assemble a good RB group of three for the play-offs is by speculative pick-ups. There are basically two ways to do this.
1. Acquire waiver wire back-ups who would be good, low RB 1's or solid RB 2's if the starter went down with an injury.
2. Look at week 15 & 16 match-ups (play-offs) and grab guys on teams with the best schedules who could get a decent amount of touches.
The teams with the easiest schedule against the run in play-off weeks 15 & 16 combined are:
Miami - MILLER
K.C. - HILLIS/DRAUGHN
Dallas - JONES/TANNER
Oakland - GOODSON
Houston - Tate/Casey/Forsett
San Diego - Battle/Brown
Tampa - Blount
Denver - Hillman
Note: the team team with the # 1 easiest schedule against the run for the remainder of the season is:
Tennesse - Jamie Harper ? Maybe a great add?
Titans coach Mike Munchak said backup running back Jamie Harper could see more carries in short yardage and goal-line situations going forward, according to Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com.
Analysis: Harper scored a one-yard touchdown Thursday against the Steelers after Chris Johnson failed to get the ball in on the previous carry. Harper's presence could be devastating to Johnson's already waning fantasy value.
Good luck to all !
