Billy Volek- I think Volek i sjust a fill in guy. Just sittin in the starting job waiting until the Titans staff decides that VY is ready to take the reins of the starting QB. That being said Volek is a very talented QB. We all have seen his numbers as a starter replacing the injured McNair, and might i say they are not to bad. I do think that he is a great back-up but i think that his potential as a QB has been met. He did have his moments last year playing in 6 games, but i think the Titans know that Volek doesnt really fit "there" style of offense they want to run. VY does have a more fit IMO. I do think he will have a decent year leading the Titans. But come after this year i dont think that he has much of a chance in Tennessee.

VY- I think VY is great talented player who has some of the highest upside of any QB to come out of college in many years. IMO Young will be a great QB, and i dont think it will take him as long as most people think it will to adjust to the NFL and Titans offense. He is very smart i predict it will take around 1 year as a back-up (baring no injury to Volek) for Vince to become the starter in Tennessee. Young will be unlike any other QB in the National Football League, no im not saying he will be the best but i think his talents are different than anyother QB in the league. Overall Outlook= VY will be a great quarter back in the years to come. Overall in 06 he wont be much of a facter.

Projections:

Billy Volek 3,468 yards, 25 TD's passing, 18 INT's, 61 yards rushing, 2 Rushing TD's

Vince Young 238 yards, 2 TD's, 0 INT's, 28 yards rushing, 0 TD's (No injury to Volek)

Never was a big Volek fan, more of a 'flash in the pan' guy than anything else..

the last 8 games in which he palyed, he has thrown just 5 tds to 4 ints, 760 yards, 55.7 comp. percentage, and zero games throwing for more than 200+ yards..

I don't think it will be long at all , before the Titans break out VY and let him play..

especially once Tenn sees they're in dead last in the division. They'll look to get VY on the field in hopes of getting him playing time, and to make sure he's used to the pace of the NFL, so that in '07, he's ready as a starting QB..not unlike what happened to Eli Manning, when they threw him to the dogs after a few games of futility from Kurt Warner...and Manning responded with a good season. It's all part of the rebuilding process going on in Tenn..

We'll likely see VY sooner rather than later , in 2006.

what's the over/under on games Volek starts this year?

my guess is 5...

forgot to add my projection for Volek:

5 starts, 950 yards, 56% comp, 5 tds / 6 ints, 80 passer rating..

this isn't the old chuck-n-duck offense he played in back in 2004, Norm Chow has a more balanced attack...

Titans fan here.

From what I've read it seems Volek has put in a lot of extra time in the playbook and with the receivers. We could see some rebuilt chemistry as well as a QB who is very comfortable in what I believe to be a serviceable offensive system courtesy of Norm Chow.

I also see Volek starting the majority of the season, with decent numbers, but not in the upper 20's as TD's go.

My prediction:

BV - 3200yds 23tds 13 int.

Young - 300yds 3tds 5 ints

This is with Volek starting between 13-16 games this year.

Titans | Young continues to struggle

Published Sun Aug 6 1:40:00 p.m. ET 2006

(KFFL) Craig Tapper, of TitansOnline.com, reports Tennessee Titans QB Vince Young continues to struggle in finding his rhythm during practice. "There are going to be mistakes," Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said in defense of Young. "What he (Vince) is doing is learning from his mistakes. That's the mark of a good player."

Based on Volek's 7 game stint as a starter in 2004 (games with 30+ attempts), his projections for 2006:

704 attempts NFL RECORD

443 completions (63%) NFL RECORD

5029 yards (7.1 YPA) #2 HIGHEST TOTAL

39 TD

18 int

25-114-2 rushing

Volek = speed :D
